Could use a little help here, have a friend that is a very large Parts rebuilder, he got a tip on an old engine rebuilder/parts distributor that has been closed for years that was getting ready to unload all its leftover inventory and he swooped in and bought it all before the info went public, 26 full pallets of NOS and used Chevy, Ford and Pontiac stuff, Blocks, heads etc. and A LOT of parts in original NOS boxes, nothing aftermarket. Could be junk could be a homerun, I am going to help him go through everything to check part numbers etc and would like to put "crib" sheets together to check for the HiPo p/n's etc. I know Morkar.? for Chevy stuff, need help for the Ford and Pontiac part numbers. Thanks in advance SULLY

Sully,
It must be prophetic that that was your post #409! IF you see anything "W" motor related, please send me a PM. And if there's any "W" stuff there that you need part number help with, I'll be glad to give you correct answers.
Rebuilders also tend to stock up on generators, starters, water pumps and master cylinders. I'm very interested in any of those type components that might be applicable to "W" motors.
Thanks for the consideration.

The Ford stuff will have casting/part numbers configured with a letter and a numeral as the first two characters, and this will help you ID when the part was designed/used.
B=1950's
C=1960's
D=1970's
E=1980's

The number next to it will be the year, ie "C7AE-9425-A" is a 1967 dual four intake for medium riser 427's. A 1970 Boss 302 block will have a "D0..." casting number, and so on. (Note: MANY Ford FE blocks have "427" cast into them, including many 352's and 390's, so don't get too excited!) Once you get a handle on what kind of Ford stuff you have and the era its from, I can help you ID stuff or let you know what books to reference.

Good luck!
