I always like the concept cars to see what or who is willing to pay up for them. I will be looking at GTO Judges and Trans Ams and what Boss and Shelby Mustangs will be doing.

Has anybody mentioned the last 1967 Sting Ray built? Gotta' be one of the stars of the show, right?

Way too much hype and pushiness of the owner. The car shows up every other hour on the speed channel and in every vette related magazine, all to hype up the price at the auction. I can understand hyping a car if you are keeping it, but this is a little too much like insider trading in the stock market: you push up the value of your own stock and then sell it. Just my 2 cents. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I agree with you Steve, I am sick of seeing it on Speed, but it's still the last '67 built and it is a 427/sidepipe car with good colors. I have a hunch it'll go big money. I see that car as one of the great Baby Boomer icons and the money might go sky-high if the right guys get involved. I wonder if "Ferrari guy" will want to add it to the collection he's putting together?

[/ QUOTE ] I am guessing that the guy who bought the 003 53 Corvette will buy the last 67 Vette for a seven figure price.

Proteam Corvettes is pushing the limit with the marketing for this car. Has anyone seen a picture of it before its restoration? I would be very careful. Its got great colors and I'm sure its a nice car, but if you know Proteam and some of the cars they have and sell, then you'll understand that the nick-name ProScam Corvettes does not come from nothing...

------So you are saying that the Nabors did a poor restoration, huh??? It would be the first one I have heard of. Like them and Terry or not I think the car was restored well. I looked it over pretty darn good at Meadowbrook this past August and couldnt find anything to complain about except over-restoration. Personally,,, in this instance I can forgive them that! Just about everyone on the planet knows what condition it was in prior to restoration, so I dont think there are any surprizes there. I believe at least part of the money is going to charity, but Terry is always the bad guy,,,right??? Yah,,, he probably wouldnt do anything nice. Hes just a used car guy.......Bill S

Bill, I have heard conflicting stories on the car. I did not hear that Nabors did the restoration. Matter of fact in Hemmings Muscle Machines (3-4 issues back) the article stated Proteam completed the restoration - mentioned nothing of Nabors. I'm not doubting the car the car is nice, maybe I jumped the gun because I have not seen it, but how much of the car is original? In a place like BJ where there are more 435hp ’67 Vettes that started life as 300hp automatics, all I am saying is buyer beware.

Is the guy in the Ferrari hat buying for his own collection or buying for someone or a museum, sorry to get off the subject. The show on Speed shows that Nabor Bros did the resto on the car.

Thanks for the B-day shout, my wife didn't remember it until her mom called to wish me a happy B-day! The Ferrari hat guy does not blink or back up when he is bidding against some heavey hitters, I think he gets caught up in his "15 minutes of fame" a little too much!
I would like to see how lot# 1268.1 does. 69 double Copo
