Those early '70's Trans Ams are extremely cool cars. Shaker hoods, 455's, and arguably the coolest dash ever put into a musclecar with the engine-turned gauge panel. Yeah, I'm a fan too. I also like the round wheelwells more than the Camaros squared-off wheelwells to fit bigger slicks in the back. You know, I wonder why Chevrolet didn't put some kind of cool hood on 1970-1973 Camaros. The flat hood is terrible even with stripes.

It'll make the reserve. I wish it had the original motor, I'd be tempted to get all "NJ Steve" on it!

Neat car: 455 HO, 4-speed. Blue on blue is a great color combination. That carb is going to be an expensive piece to find. Needs a whole bunch of body/rust work: it's also going to have a bunch of serious windshield and cowl rust based on the cowl tag photo and the general shape of the rest of the car. But for the $11,500 buy it now price, that's not even a bad price for anything rare these days.
Its now at home in Klunkersville !!! We had a deal until the Poniac expert that wasn't even bidding told the owner where to look for the vin number http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif . We had looked at the car before it met reserve and made a deal http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif , that went south when he discovered the vin at the pan rail http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif Thanks !!! We still made the deal for more money and here it is http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif. Wheres Klunkersville , Steve Shauger, Ken Pascoe, Frank Arrone, Bob Johnson, Chuck Hanson, Jeff Dotter, Jerry Macneish, and Don White all know where the field of dreams is http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif!!!! Pictures are under Look what followed me home today

Will be up soon....
Pictures can be deceiving, the cowl and windsheild are perfect, covered with dirt and squirrel nest NO rot at all, just a tiny bit of flaking paint and a hint of surface rust that it. Rock solid doors and fenders, floors rails etc. I just got hooked up on NOS rear quarters today this one's getting done!!!

Glad to hear it was better than described. That doesnt happen very often these days. I would suggest you pull the windshield anyway (but I'd imagine you're going to completely disassemble the car anyway). There is a five inch wide area hidden under the blacked out portion of the lower windshield on both ends that always hides scale and rust. You'll be surprised at what you may find there.
