I just picked up a copy of Corvette Enthusiast (February issue) and it has a beautiful Monaco Orange "L88" Corvette on the cover. Inside is a full feature on this car, built by Terry Pennington for his wife to drive. Turns out that this car began it's life as a L46 4-speed car but now sports a full blown L88 with an automatic.
This car is beautilful and obviously very fast. I wonder why nobody has built a ZL1 Corvette for this racing; it seems that the Corvettes are the class of the field with the L88, I can only imagine what they'd do with a ZL1.

ZL-1 Vetts are not legal. Production #'s too low. They are looking for production cars #'s of at least 50.

[/ QUOTE ] Actually a second design L88 it identical to a ZL1 except for the block material. In fact the later L88s puts out more hp than a ZL1. I believe it may have something with the sleeves in the ZL1s block and something to due with the L88s iron block having better thermal properties than the ZL1 block. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
