I am gonna start a small block build up for fun, and considering going with one of these intakes. You know the one that is marketed as 'a copy of the Z/28 intake'

Just wondering, how close to the original is this copy? Does it actually have improvements over the original? If so, where?

Further, How out-of-date is this intake (or the original) compared compared to some of the newer designs like an RPM airgap?

I have one on my camaro. The engine is a 62 327 with 70 041 heads. It has 11:1 compression and a .485 crane cam with 1.6 rockers. The car weighs 3500 with me in it. Best time so far is 12.69 @ 107 with slicks and open headers. See my web page at www.cardomain.com/ride/2325750/1 (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2325750/1) .
