Sorting out some BB radiators and need some help with the letters....both out of 70 BB Novas..th400....pass side tank has Harrison at the top...then C H then E and the other F...no metal tags attached...does the E and F signify a certain month?? are there any other spots to look for part numbers or codes??
Thanks, wilma http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

If the letter E-May & F-June, are inbetween the ribs then that's the month code.
The letter I was not used to date the Tanks either that I have seen,so M was December.
If there was a suffix tag attached,it would have the actual radiators part # on it.
Kinda difficult to find anymore specific application info w/o the suffix tag attached.
Your 1970 L-78 Nova Radiator would have had a ZE suffix tag, part #3017838.
That CH tank would've been found on the TH400 1969 Big Block Camaro too.

Kim, according to the CRG chart the IL code is 67-69 BB auto...but the 67-68 big tank had OM....when you think about how few 68 BB Nova auto cars there were (L34/L78) it would make sense that they would have used the Camaro ones they had on hand http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif the Gibb cars were a late production run and perhaps the radiators were already in the works for the 69 model year..that would explain the 69 code....maybe drop an e-mail to Wayne...he might have some info from John's car.

With the Gibb cars being automatics that makes since. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Tom they were also 4-core instead of 3-core The 3-core was standard in a 68-375 nova. Being a auto they would have had to use a auto tank also.

I am not sure I undestand....are you saying the Gibb cars came with a 4 core radiator?? Was that a COPO thing or was it for the 4.10 gears?? I have the original radiator from my 68 L78 car with the tag...I will post some photos....

The Gibb novas had a 4-core rad. The org ad about them states that.
That sounds right.
I believe Helens window sticker denotes RPO VO-1 for Heavy Duty cooling.

I'd be interested in seeing Helen's window sticker. Can someone email me a copy?
V01 was not available on a Camaro BB, must be a Nova thing.

Kim, the C and H on your rad is in between the ribs...and the letter E is on the rib...yet on the drivers side tank the I L is on the rib like others I have....your photos don't show the middle/top of the core...just curious are there 2 holes kind of in the middle?? I was told by an old school rad guy these holes were used to hang up the tank when it was painted at the factory....I checked my 4 core in the 70 and it doesn't have the same look n the top..probably re-cored somewhere along the trail..

I looked at my pic and don't have one showing the middle of the top plate and I don't remember if it had holes in the middle. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
