My father has bought this vette and threw all the research we have done we are pretty sure it is one of the 10 baldwin motion phase3 gt corvettes, the only thing we have not done yet is pay Joel to do a doc. search to confim, but before we do that my dad and I thought maybe we could get some input from all you handsome men
http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I will be posting pictures of it tommarrow if I can figure out how to do it. And I figured you all could tell me if you think it is an original. The vin numbers are very similure to the one that resides with the man from tulsa.
Here is some info on it.
It has the external headlights
It has the moon shaped silver pop up gas cap
It has the flat hatchback window
It is white now but looks to have been red at one time
And the tail lights are oval rectangular and about a foot long. There is only one on either side instead of three which is what seems to be on most of the ones I have seen
There is a scoop/vent infront of the doors(behind the front fenders. So I will be awaiting all thou gentlmens replies! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have skipped the thumbnails program and upload directly to photobucket, as that site will resize automatically or manually smaller if you choose. -Chris

------This is a very perplexing "Maco maybe"!!! For instance, if its a 68 why does it have the 1970 rectangular rear exhaust cut-outs??? As well, I just dont see Joel putting those scoops on the side either. Yet it seems to have the back window and headlights.
------Also, The tail-lights are 63/64 Riviera. I dont remember ever seeing a Maco with Riv. tail-lights. The fenders appear to be 68/69, no flairs and side-markers are the small style. Cold air on the bottom of the hood looks like a newer circa 73 hood but the top side still has the vacuum operated wiper door
------If this was a Maco it must have been further modified over the years. Need more info to make any kind of assumption.....Bill S

I wondered some of the same things, especially those side scoops...they may have looked better on the C-Pillars if anywhere? .

I'd expect a lot of the private cars built w/ Motion parts were after an accident, so parts from a few cars could have been used if this was the case...so look for accident damage? .

If it was one of Joel's cars, the workmanship would be similar to other known ones also there should be filled in holes where the GT emblems etc. were placed? .

The tank sticker if there may provide some clue to what dealer it was sent to new which may help. .

Check what suffix and Vin is stamped on the engine...who knows, may even be original to the car? .

Look forward to what you find also the interior pics! .

Any signs of previous existing sidepipes? .

After seeing the pics, I can tell you that is Not one of the 10 Phase III GTs that Motion built. First like I said it being a 68 car elimitates that possiblity. It appears to have maybe a Motion mail ordered front end/hood and rear window kit.. Tho there were a couple companies back then that sold those body mods. The fender scoops and flares aren't Motion, neither is the fuel filler. Looks to be a previous owner job maybe? Do you know the cars history? Where is it from? If it were a Baldwin Chevy sold car with paper it would have longer legs.. but I don't feel this is a Motion car. Looks like a great car to fix up and have fun with tho http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Makes you think. Headlights are on the money with the Lucas buckets and it is a late 68 car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

Hey, Medium rare1:

I heard your car was owned by some clown in Upstate New York before you bought it! Hope your year is off to a good start, I agree this car probably isn't a Phase III GT, still an interesting piece. Our (Your) car is pictured in the latest vette magazine again, call and say hello sometime, car looks great.
