Selling a 5 blade fan that has 4 rivets per blade, "H" and "Front" on the center, "W" on one blade on other side.
3 1/4" center to center spacing for the mounting holes, 2 5/8" center hole, and 18" across the blades. Pictures show the markings.
First PM or E-mail gets it for $1,700 with free shipping to the lower 48. There were 2 fans just like this that sold recently for $1,550 and $1,775.
Thanks,
Rick Pauley

I need to mention that there are 3 of the vanes on the edge that have cracked off from the fan clutch. I feel that they are easily fixed.
Will consider offers on it.
The fan above has no issues.

Can you guys please tell me what makes this fan different than the ones on the 67-68 vet. This one for example
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-CORV...1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-CORVETTE-CORRECT-FAN-AND-CLUTCH-10-25-67-SC_W0QQitemZ270073226397QQihZ017QQcategoryZ33600QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I know the vet uses a different clutch unit but the fans measure identical do they not. I know nothing about small blocks only BBC and 292's. Same time while looking for a L-72 water pump pulley last week for one of the guys on the site I find three 3770245 water pump pulleys and I never had any 409's.I am not sure how this mouse stuff crawled in the rat cage but then I remember a deal way back with a z-28 guy.I have not checked any of my fans but I know I have them like this vet.
Thanks for the clarification.

I'm sorry Rick that is not the intention of my post. Your pricing is in line with what these have been going for. I am just trying to find out from a Z owner what is different so I know not to be selling 1500 dollar fans for a couple of hundred bucks.

That's ok, I wasn't sure if my price was out of line or not. I'm curious to know also what some minor differences may be.
Rick's pricing is in line with the market. I just bought one for the same price, which is high but what decent parts aren't? the difference in this fan and other 5 blade, 4 rivets is: a 3.25in bolt pattern vs. 3in normal; a 2 5/8" diameter fan clutch hole. These blades were used due to higher rpm on the Zs and L78s.

The vet is 3 1/4 also is it not??? I am not sure on the center hole dia. The vet one on the auction also confirmed
3 1/4 once it was taken apart??. Still not seeing it maybe it is just me
Good question, I don't know anything about vette fans, just what I read about these fans and that they were only used on camaro z28 abd L78. I know these are a specific part number, would have to go check, so what part number is the vette? Would GM have two diff part numbers for same part depending on vehicle???

Unfortunately I have no books to check the vet part number for the fan may be someone else can assist there. I do know the vet used the same DG water pump pulley as the 67/68 Z 3770245 since I just sold a NOS one to a vet guy for his small block and he was real interested for me to search through my fans.
Also I think we had a 68 l-72 and a regular 68 396 350 hp with this fan (3871276). I remember looking for a replacement clutch unit for the 396 and the replacement ones would not fit the fan blade but the one off the 68 l-72 worked.
We don't need 3000 dollar fans currently running on or put away for old 68 BB , if that is possible.

My untouched 67 L78 June Norwood has this fan but with 3" clutch mounting bolt circle. Yes, I'm positive. Any known untouched 67, 68 L78 cars with 3 1/4" circle??

This info is the same as stated in MacNeish's '67 Z/28 book for part number 3871276; I have the correct fan clutch and a 69 7 blade fan will fit the clutch as it has a 3.25in hole and a 3in hole fan will not work. Oh what fun the GM engineers must be having with our hobby....

According to my car, not very accurate. Maybe the mech lifter cars were supposed to get the 276 3.25 bolt circle fan - mine got the 562 3" bolt circle. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

OK I need help from the 67/68 Z-28 crew since I am still not clear on this 3871276 fan.
Today I got a few minutes to dig a little into my fan pile and found some of these as I thought I would.
5 blade, 4 rivets, front marked "front" with a "H" opposite it
One blade with a "W" inside, 18" diameter, 3 1/4" bolt hole centers, 2 5/8" center hole. This particular one was painted white by someone that is what you are seeing.
Is this not a 3871296. It is also sold pending payment but I have more.

I just got a e-mail I think it's the same pump on ZL-1 motors
PeteLeathersac
02-10-2007, 12:45 AM
I think there's other castings that may be the same too...maybe different flows and the bottom rotated and mounted in a different position for fuel line input/output angles so different part numbers?.

There is three nos ones running on e-bay as we speak and a used on for 99cents if you need one.
They are not hard to locate and differ only with the 296 in the center hole diametere and clutch mounting holes.
price however is from 20-150 for nos vs 1200-1700 plus used for the other.
