I know that lots of people on this forum knew Terry Carney, Bill S. knew him longer or better than any of us, I bet. I knew Terry through his racer cousin, Steve, that I went to college with. I just got the word that Terry passed away last evening after battling melanoma. He died peacefully with his mother and daughter with him. I went to Chicago over the weekend to say goodbye to Terry. When I saw him on Saturday, I could tell the end was near. If any of you remember Terry from the last Vettefest, he was trotting around with a little dog in his arms and a patch on his right eye. The cancer took his right eye a few months ago. Always the car guy, he grew up in his dads Chevrolet dealership in Indiana and probably was buying and selling cars when I was in diapers. I'll miss him dearly.

My condolences to Terry's family. Though I did not know him it is always sad to hear of a fellow car guy's passing. You are very fortunate to have been able to visit him and say your good byes. Often times we never get the chance.

I didn't know Terry very well, just met him several times at auctions and car shows. May he rest in peace. He was a car guy from the tip of his toes to the top of his head.

At the Vettefest, he and I were talking about his desire to help Arnie Beswick (a close friend of his) build a tribute car to one of his early Catalina Super Duties. Two or three weeks ago I get this call from Terry, and he had Arnie on the line with him......just to talk Super Duties.

I will always have very fond memories of Terry.....mainly his unsurpassed zeal for anything "high performance muscle car".
