Fill'er up with some of that Hooker-Headers brand gas, toss in a couple of those complimentary cement blocks for traction...and off to the track!!!? .

And is that a modified Vega GT across the street beside the '71 LTD...just over the 'Vette's driver's visor and a white '69 Goat behind it? .

WHAT?!! nothing to say about the mismatched rims? flares in rear but not in front? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I stopped trying to figure out the cement block after I came up with the idea that they always had some on hand for quick repairs when a car got off the DYNO !! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

I did see that but refrained from mentioning it, but now since you brought it up, it looks like someone was shopping for a small appliance, maybe a toaster oven, and placed it on the hood of that Vega while they fumbled for their keys.
Thats eight lanes plus a grassy knoll away.

I think you're right, it's a 71/72 Cougar or Montego maybe? .

Looks like all the 'Vette wheel openings are flared...on the rims, the guy was probably happy to run anything that didn't rub? .

Very cool picture! Nice find!

I think the car across the street is a Grand Prix.

yes, I took this photo with a new 110mm camera which I promptly dropped in the water getting on the boat later that week. All of two rolls of film were taken.

That's excellent! During the 1970's & 1980's, there wasn't a time, when I was passing MOTION , that there weren't a handful of wild cars out front. Sunrise Highway was a "test & tune" strip!
