Listed in the parts section. Guy says that Bill Stephenson owned it once. True?

Very well known car. It is almost a shame that it was restored as this was a VERY low mileage car and very untouched and original underneath. From what I read in the ebay add it sounds pretty correct from what I know. I have a complete file and photos on the car as well as several other people here do. mr70 also have more indepth info on the car regarding it's accident.

Thanks for the reply Rick. That is a shame that it was restored, being a low mile car.
Is this the same car that was at Chevelle Showdown in Schaumburg one year?
I'd like to hear the story about the accident Mr70, if you care to tell it.

The chassis detail on this car was amazing. It is truly a shame that all of that factory primer, inspection marks and tags are gone. I got a lot of pictures but they were taken on my back at a show so they are not the greatest. After finding out what I did about the car, it could no longer be touted as a survivor but in my opinion it was the next best thing. That car had a lot of character. I am sure it is likely a very nice restoration so it can still be appreciated.

I knew that car well when the original owner had it. Really is a shame that much of its original condition has now been lost http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Yes, that car was at the Chevelle Showdown in Schaumburg IL back in the late 80's or early 90's.

Thanks Bill,
I hadn't heard before that it had been wrecked. I took some pics of it while at Chevelle Showdown because of it's low mileage, as well as Bill Bonham's Fathom Blue one.

I need to find my photos of this car and scan them. This thing was unbelieveable and if I recall, I am thinking the mileage was something like 7900 around 5 years ago. Had I known that the car would some day be torn down and restored I would have tried a little harder to keep it closer to home. This is one car that I feel should have been left unrestored. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Rick I definitely agree with that.
There was a black 33K mile LS6 that was sold last year that I was part of. Many people were bothering us to restore this part or that part, but in the end it was cleaned up, original parts reinstalled, and sold as unrestored.
They're only original once as we all know.

I saw this car race at Oswego in the early 70's. I made some duplicate photos of the car that I had taken at the time and gave them to Scott S., one of the subsequent owners.
The only real problem that the car had was some severe paint cracking, maybe that's why they felt the need to restore it.

Here's a picture of the car trying to get a little daylight under the front tires at Oswego Drag Strip back in the day http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Sean,
As best as I can recall, it had 10 or 10.5" slicks, if that's what info you were looking for.

------Thanks for the memories, guys. The description of the cars history is remarkably good. Im not sure of who owns it now but it almost sounds as if he has talked to me. I will let others talk about the damage as I never saw the damage clearly. I had a partner in the car and he took over after the accident..........Bill S

Found it Bill! Nice buy Chad http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif I know the seller took a big loss at that price based on the email that I had from him prior to him relisting!

Yeah, I think the seller learned a painful lesson on that car http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
