I need some help.
I am in need of six ( 6 ) bolt & nut sets that would have
been used for mounting my 6-lug converter on my CX THM400.
Can anyone post an image showing me the correct head markings,
bolt length and thread size? It never ends. I found the
CX, then a 6-lug converter ( through a member here ), now
I need to find the correct fasteners.
Thanks!
Steve
Have you tried AMK products? I have found them to be very accurate. Their catalog lists part #G-5280 for the torque convertor to flywheel a sbeing a six piece kit. www.amkproducts.com (http://www.amkproducts.com)

Here's an addendum to this post. It was suggested to me
that the 6-lug converters only used bolts as the lugs
actually had threaded holes in them. Can anyone confirm
this for me?
Steve
They use a 3/8 coarse thread bolt Only! Use an appropriate lubricant and torque down. Thats it.
Here's the top of that 3/8 bolt..........

Joe! Great sketch...
Are these 3/8-16 bolts anything special? In other words,
is the head thickness thinner than normal? What is the
length of the threaded section? Any way you can post an
image of an original?

Rob,
This is what I found on their website. Doesn't match your
part number though. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/nuch_ss396/Camaro/Picture0071.jpg
The head marking is somewhat different than that on the shetch
provided earlier, but is the overall look of this bolt correct?

I have the 6 bolt converter in my 70 Z-28. I will post some pics tomorrow of the original bolts.
Paul
The bolt head on the sketch is 7/8" across the top face so you only see the bolt head, not the built in bolt washer--
bolt head thickness is 3/16"
length of the shaft is 7/8"
Those bolts are a grade 5, with a torque of 33 ft. lbs.
Do not use washers!

AMK has them.

Are they different than the bolts used in the regular production M40 applications that had the threaded lug convertors? .

Pete, according to JoeG, they are. I posted an image of
the AMK bolts and I'm not sure they are right. Hope someone
can post an image of the real ones.....

Paul,
That's what I needed to see. Thanks a ton ! Now, pull the
other 4 bolts out and send them to me so I can see how well
they look together on my converter. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Are these bolts available from any fastener supplier? What about junkyards? They had to be used in other applications.
I will contact AMK to see if they can help.
I am sure they would look positively beautiful on your converter. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
