Does anyone have a car from this small performance oriented dealer in western New York? My friends 69 sYc Camaro he bought new and still has came from there. I would like to hear from anyone with a Cordia Chevrolet 'Home of the Fast Traks" car.

Wasn't Jere Stahl's 57 chevy from Cordia Chevrolet? I think the late Laverne Benner drove it.

Hello George,
I have a few questions about the car.
What is the paint color ?
What type of the transmission ?
When was the car built?
Thank you,

George, I am pretty sure the car was from Yenko, but sponsored by Cordia...BKH

The owner did in fact pick up the car himself in Canonsburg with another buddy of mine but the sale went from Yenko to Cordia to the retail customer. The car was downtown that night drawing a crowd..........I'll never forget it, only one in our town in the flesh. That was the only summer the car was ever really on the street. Life after that season was 1/4 mile at a time.
And yes, the Stahl '57 150 Sedan was with Cordia. How about this, absolute truth: that car still exists just as it was when raced. Hell yes I've tried. Cordia, Stahl and Jenkins go waaaaaaaay back.

I didn't realize all those years that that car (57 chevy) was borrowed from Cordia and went back when Stahl/Benner were done with it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I will shortly be seeing Cordia and will get more detail on the 57 150 drag car and how that went with Stahl.
What Gilcrest photos are you guys referring to ? Do you mean the magazine shots from Hurst showing the Dual-Gate installation? That is the car here in Erie that was used in the article.

That rings a bell, the inventory sheet also says Hurst on it now that I think about it. The gilchrist photos were dug out by the late doug-in-Cleveland I believe. They are very cool...

What I believed saved the Yenko Camaro from being chopped up is that they build a Vega with the same paint scheme and ran that..I have pictures of that car as well as the Yenko in warcolors with Cordia on the fenders. I also have a 69 Yenko Camaro picture never before seen anywhere at the strip, LeMans Blue/black stripes with the slicks digging in hard....BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

You are dead on correct about the Vega but the Camaro did get another life as a drag car later on with more mods, Yenko stripes gone and new paint scheme. But the good news is #1 Original owner still has car. #2 Picked up himself in Canonsburg #3 Never rusted, not cut beyond being able to save most all of the orig body. #4 Owner kept most all of orig pieces removed (some killer parts like a smog system driven from Canonsburg to Erie removed before engine cooled down hours after car purchase, boxed and put in Moms basement) #5 It's the Hurst magazine story car #6 Lots of NHRA drag history '70-about'76. #7 Paperwork and photos to die for. #8 See #1

Brian, I will try and get the info on the article. I had it years ago but I am sure my friend has it more available than me right now. I think it was Popular Hot Rodding but not sure. Likely a '69 dated issue. i'm on it.
Thanks for the awesome Gilcrest photo.

Hi Bruce,
Your a sly old dog tracking me down so quickly. I thouhgt I'd participate on the site if they don't beat me up to bad. We'll see if any of my other car buddies are as slick as you finding me on site. It was great seeing you at BJ and I did good- I didn't buy another car.

CORDIA CHEVROLET News-I knew of this car and just was able to purchase: 1984 Z-28, H.O. 5.0, stick, White with Red Interior.........Brand New car with 6 miles, yes, six miles, never reported sold, window sticker in place, on the MSO. Jim Cordia ordered this car with a plan to modify but never touched the car, just stored it for 23 years. I just got the car and am going to offer it for sale to someone who could enjoy this car in a collection as the interest in these later cars comes on. Interesting piece for sure and gotta be the only one I would think. Can you just imagine if Cordia had done this with a 67-70 Z-28 ? Oh well. it's fun to dream.

I know this is an older thread yet I wanted to share these photos of this old dealership or what is left of it. My brother works for FedEx and sent these to me. So I thought I would share these cool pics.

My brother talks to the father and son all the time and they did mention that they did sell 3 or 4 1970 LS6 Chevelles.
