Hey Chuck, You must be using that term around guys that are 25-30 years old. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Im doing a day 2 69 Camaro SS at my shop now as a frame off, BB, headers, 2x4bb, bigens and littlens cragers with cheeter slicks, slappers, 488 rear with M22, colume mounted tach and under dash gauges. Should be tons of fun and horse power and a early 70`s look on a very nicely restored car.

over at nastyz28 they think my car is stupid looking with the N50-15 tires sticking out of the rear wheel wells .almost everyone over there has not a clue on Day2 build ups . there's a thread going over at nastyz28 about day2 old school cars and i'm the minority http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

How exact? I guess this type of question compares to the type of restos your use to.....Do the best you can, don't cut corners...and NEVER buy parts from Summit,Jegs..ect.The litte items stick out like a sore thumb....Cragers aren't Cragers..get it? My pet peeve....don't ceramic coat/powder coat anything.....EVER.Leave the Cal-Tracs and poly bushings on the shelf.....Traction Masters,Lakewoods...NMW's.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif On a true "day two" I like to see most parts even pre-date the car by a few years....Never the other way around....I recently found the "right" lug nuts for my TT rims....Felt great when somone at a local cruise noticed and said to his friend..
"Wow! He even has the old school lugs on his mags...".... Now that's what I'm talking about... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

You can't win that battle...If they don't understand they never will.....Just be thankful you "Get it"...More parts for us.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif
That 72 looks like it's right out of Cars Mag.... IMHO Lose the tach and put in a Moroso cable driven unit......Sweet!

I have to agree on the tach... Moroso or a Jones tach drive... I think the Stahl tach is too early for your car.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I like it! The only thing for me is I would lower it a little in the back and tuck some L-60's under the wheel wells with a little thinner rim! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Dude, that is on bad ride. I have always liked that look. When I was younger these are the kinds of cars that got me into the whole thing. Nothing wrong with the stock look at all, but to me something like this really stands out. AWESOME CAR.

Man I love that look.I am looking for a set of real supertricks for my car,and maybe a set of 15x3.5 sprints for the front.Right now I have to live with the old style centerline I have on it.I went for a look that is more the "Day 2000" look, which can best be described as what it would have looked like if one of my crew had figured out how to make our high school hot rod run 10's.This car was actually a high school shop project in my class back in 1988,and belonged to 2 different friend's of mine while I was in high school, and it was actually the only car with nice shiny red paint back then.I even raced against it with my 73 Camaro back in the late 80's.Fiture projects include redoing the dashboard with conventional chrome bezeled 2" guages and finishing the paint job in Citrus greeen.I was thinking of a motion stripe since it is powered by a real aluminum headed 427 chevy, but I am on the fence about that. Here is what it looks like when you take a perfectly good 10 second bracket car{9's on the nitrous} and remove all the "fastest street car" crap and give it a little old school look.
