Some of you may remember the story on the 1977 Z/28 I recently re-purchased. The car was special ordered new by my dad and sold in '81. With the help of a member here I located the car and brought it home in December
I have put some postings out on a few car sites with some of the parts I am looking for. Eric (VintageMusclecar) sent me an email saying he would see what he could find. A short time later I get the email he has a correct carb for the car. Well today the box arrived in the mail and even though I haven't seen it yet (I'm at work until tomorrow) my wife informed me that there is a beautifully restored Quadrajet in the box. I can't say how much I appreciate the help that the members on this site have given me already.
In case anyone doesn't know about Eric and Vintage Musclecar Parts here's a link. This will be the only place I will use from now on.

I'm more impressed with him as a person. I haven't had a chance to drool over it yet since I am at work.

Let's not get too carried away here. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Anyhow, on a more serious note;
I think what Lewis is doing for his father is way cool beyond words. I've wanted to do the very same thing for my own father for quite some time now, but several factors have prevented me from doing so. I deeply respect what Lewis is doing for his dad, and as such I felt compelled to donate the carb to help his cause, and consider it a priveledge to do so.
Here's to you & your dad Lewis. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
I hope you both get to enjoy the car for many years to come.

Well since Eric let the cat out of the bag I have some more I want to add. I wanted to tell everyone here what he did for me but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate. When Eric initially contacted me saying he had the carb and would be sending it oo me I was thrilled. I figured it was a used carb that I would have restored when I needed it. When my wife called me at work and told me that it was restored I couldn't believe it. There was a letter enclosed in the box and I had her read it to me and when she got to the line where Eric said it was donated I was speechless. What do you say when something like this happens to you, thank you just doesn't seem adequete.
I am forever in debt to Eric and I will definately send any work I come across his way. The generosity is 100% above and beyond anything I have experienced.
I would also like to point out that even though I frequent multiple car sites my experiences here are top notch. I am not putting down the other sites by any means but whenever I start a post the responses here are great. Mark (396L35) is looking for my dealer emblem in his boxes and the price is more than fair. The other member (name withheld by request) who ran the VIN and helped me track the car also took it upon himself to help me. All of these experiences with people I have never met in person is unbelievable.
I wish you guys could have seen mom and dads face when I took the carb over there. They were shocked at the detail Eric put into it. Once they read the letter the only thing dad could say was wow, he was speechless. I completely understood, I was the same way.

Lewis;
Thanks for the kudos, but I don't want this to get turned around to be about me...this is your moment because of what you're doing for your dad.
Donating a carb wasn't that big of a deal...what you're doing for your dad is. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

As always Eric is a good man! You can count on him. This site has many generous, big hearted people that step right up. You have come to the right place Lewis. Good luck and have fun with the car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
