Here is some information about smog equipment and examples where it was required and not required for certain production cars >
The following specs are as designed (for U.S.)
It seems that for 1968 Camaro, all V8 with Manual or TurboHydramatic transmission were equipped with AIR. All V8 equipped with Powerglide did not have AIR.
For 1969, all manual V8 and 396 with Automatic transmission had AIR. All 307, and 250/300 hp 350 with Automatic transmission did not have AIR.
The AIR delete 'option' for Canada was KD1, but this was not something that could be ordered by the general public. It was forced on by the factory depending on vehicle content and probably had to do with the above.
