------Ken,,,Dont you always love the interior description on a vinyl interior car as leather. I see this mistake frequently. Pretty car even with the tach discrepancy........Bill S

Take care here and beware as I tried asking this seller a couple questions about docs, rivets and what matching #'s meant to him just so it would appear in the auction...as I processed the message, eBay made notice to me that the seller speaks another language and is actually from another eBay site!!??.

I recall this car from a year or so ago too and wonder if this is actually a trickster deal, maybe the scammers are getting smarter and waiting a while before scooping a listing and putting it out there?.

Did you check the buy/sell history? Old albums, couple of DVD's and a butter dish, no car parts. Hmmm...

WHO ME?? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I recall th ecar very well.. it was in Ohio I think... and I corresponded with seller.. pics of teh resto and teh Block casting date and deck stamp were poor and seemed "modified" pics.. hard to say.. it had Black Steel wheels with dogs then and not body color wheels like it should have... it seemed like a nice enough car, but I always felt if it were REAL DEAL, it was underpriced at what they wanted.. $72,000 as I recall.. a Real 66 SS L-78 full restored and with original Born with drivetrain.. should take more than $100K in my opinion.. all depends on level of detail and quality of resto, and docs if they had any of course. but this may be a fluke/scam now http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

The seller responded to my questions...kind've..

Q;
What documents are you referring to that confirms this car was an L78 car new?.
Does your 'numbers matching' comment mean this is THE original engine, trans etc or just that the numbers match?.
Has the cowl trim tag been changed or ever off the car?.

A;
"Everything on the car is original I believe. And I'm not sure about the L78"

-------

The english isn't bad, more like typical poor grammar but didn't really answer the questions...seems very unknowledgable for someone who owns this car also couldn't be who wrote the eBay ad?.

And why don't the questions and answer show in the below area of the listing...does a seller have the power to allow this to show or not or was it because I chose the general question about the item thing...or what?.

Yes, seller has the discretion whether or not to post questions and their replies. Actually a good thing from a seller's perspective, since you can get questions that detract from your listing if posted.
