I am looking for some information regarding the decal on the wing glass of the KoMotion Corvette. Does anyone have a detailed photo of this decal? I have sent an email from the contact section of the KoMotion web site; but received no reply. The debate is that the decal is of some kind of wild man driving a T-Bucket. If I am correct it is kind of like an Ed Roth style caricature with big bulged eyes and a hand on the shifter above the window frame. Here is the deal, I own a Corvette that was once a Drag car. The gentleman that I purchased the car from started a restoration process to return the car to its stock appearance. I acquired the car in an unfinished (un-assembled) state and went forward with the restoration process. Among the parts that were replaced on the car were the wing glass and regulators. On one of the wing glass of the car was a decal that I am confident was of the previously mentioned design. Long story short the confidence of my body man persuaded me to try removing the decal from the replaced wing glass via hair dryer and razor blade. Having watched him do this before many times I thought it would work. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif MISTAKE! Wanting the decal for nothing more that to paste on my tool box I was disappointed; but not heart broken. Where the problem comes in is now some 13 years later my bodyman seems to remember the decal as being white with red, yellow, and black coloring and having an animal (cat or alligator) with wheels for legs! I have tried to tell him that he has smelled too many paint fumes; but he holds to his guns. In any event I would like this groups input to settle this. I am not looking to replace it, just prove him wrong. I have shown him photos of a TopCat decal and he says no that is not it either. Help! By the way the only other time I have seen this decal was on a 67or 68 Motion Camaro that sold at an estate auction around Buffalo MO during the mid 90’s. It was only listed as big block Camaro in the local papers. The buyer was from Texas if I remember correctly. I was not into Motion at the time like I am now or the years following or I would have either owned it or had enough rolls of photos to fill a book.

Yes this is the one that I am thinking about; but some closer detail would be great. I think that this makes me right and my bodyman wrong. Mine was not anywhere near the condition of the one on Ko-Motion so it is not an apple to apple comparison. In any event I do not think that this is called the Topcat. X Baldwin Motion's post shows what I would call a Topcat decal in the upper right hand corner. To ad one more twist to the mix my bodyman's dad seems to think it was a decal from the track at Gainsville Florida. From his description it would be more like taking the topcat decal and putting an aligator in place of the cat. This matches with his sons description so now I need to be able to show them the "Bucket Man" to get a concensis. Thanks for all the help you guys are awsume. Looks like we will all learn from this one.

Thank You. I think that this is the one. If anyone has a more clear picture it would be great. I found a patch that has the "Gator" on it that is in question as being the actual character on the sticker. If anyone has a picture of a decal from Gainsville that might have this gator on it it might be worth looking at. I appreciate the help.

[b]Back in the sixties there was a line of models marketed by Hawk. They were a Big Daddy Roth type of caricature. I remember one was a drag race type in a coffin that looked like this.
I have a shot of a similar one -

Dog,

Nice; but I know for sure that is not it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif There is anouther one in that series that is more like the decal. it is a "monster" driving an altered. It has the hand above the roof shifter http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif and "keg" gas tank just like the decal.

Dog,

Look close I and I think that you will see that "Digger" is the "Motion T-bucket Man" The photo on the model box does not match 100% to the original Weird-Ohs prints. But the originals print does match the Motion decal. Hand on shifter, Header coming out of helmet, wheels in air at same angle, and piston flying out of engine! I am in process of making contact with the original artist of "Digger" to see if he recalls doing work for Motion. Hmmm....I wonder if J.R. gets paid royalties off of the model car sales being that all of the logos and artwork are copy writed etc. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifAnyway I think that you solved the mystery enough for me to end the debate with my body man.
