a local landscaper called Five seasons brought 37 mexicans across the border, got them work visas, and pay them $8.60 an hour plus they bought them a house that they rent from the landscaping co.
the suburb they are in is flipping out,and they cant do a thing because according to the landscaper, all 37 mexicans are related to each other, and that means they can have 100 of these mf;ers living in the house if they want..
well, the prosecutor in the suburb says not so fast,he wants PROOF all 37 of these people are related or they get the boot.

Forget it! You guys are PI$$ING in the wind. This is never going to change. Only going to get worse. Make sure your kids have a 5 year college plan so they can get a job. My slogan if I was running for Pres would be "Lets give America back to the Americans." http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Sad, but true Sam.

We've had an influx of Mennonites in our area over the past few years. Wanna hear something sick? Even they are hiring illegal immigrants to man their cabinet and millwork shops!

only reason they are here is because kids today are too damn lazy.

they would rather listen to their ipod and text each other while mommy pays the cell bill.

That about sums it up IMO, kids today have no respect and no work ethic

Well maybe Andy, partly true. We raised 4 hard working boys and we are proud of them. Have 2 in the National Guard as we speak. I believe the young kids do not want to do this/that kind of work. Very hard to get our kids to learn a trade or a craft in this country. If they are not in an office or behind a desk they feel they are not successful in this day and age. That leaves all the real blue collar type work to the foreigners. It mainly started in California and the deep South with migrant workers but has become nation wide now. I don't go anywhere.....vacation, out to eat, buying gas, donuts, coffee etc. that there is not at least 75% foreigners or immigrants working. I hate to tell you but it is NOT going to go back to the old days. Better work some OT and get your kids a good education cause that is where it is at right now and even that is no security in this changing market and trend. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

sam,no offense intended, just going by what i see.

kids that work for me just have that deer with headlights on look when im trying to make them better at their job.

absolutely no focus,it seems like that cell phone is melting a hole in their pocket.

my generation wasnt much better,i guess. we had marijuana to make us lazy.

I say as soon as they come across the boarder ship them to Iraq like they did to the immagrates during Viet Nam... Just think, your not going to stop them and they want to be here so let them fight for their freedom... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

NO,NO. I did not take offense. I agree with you. My wife and I are just lucky I guess. Most kids today have no skills. They can work a computer and a cell phone but can't and won't dig a ditch or mow a lawn. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Its not so much the kids fault - but what is lacking in a lot of parents. We have become complacent as a nation and feel this type of work is beneath us. Maybe you can't survive on that level of wages, but it doesn't mean you should look down on that type of work.
If you don't take the time with your children to instill a good work ethic they are not going to pick one up in school. You can be just as lazy writing programs as you can be mowing lawns!
Is it our fault for not making our kids go out and get a summer job, but buying them everything they need?
I was pumping gas in a Shell station 5 nights a week from 9th grade on. It afforded me my cars and parts. It taught me to provide for myself. There are very few entry level jobs that give you a Jag to drive to work. There is a rude awakening coming for many graduates.
Today to many parents just buy their kids whatever they want just to not have to listen to it, and the kids wind up the losers in the end.

WOW Dog....you said it right! I guess if we were those types of employers we would not want those kids working for us either. Some day maybe these kids will wake up and smell the coffee! I pumped gas from about 67-71 and also collected trash for a few years too. Good money in the late 60's and it kept me lean and mean throwing those trash cans around.......unlike I am today. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

We have too many kids going for useless degrees. Everyone thinks they have to go to college now, and no one wants a job that requires actual physical labor. The market is getting flooded with kids with useless degrees who are getting paid next to nothing. Meanwhile the guy driving a bulldozer, or doing machine work makes more money than they do.

Andy I also was growing up when everyone smoked a little marijuana! Well OK some of us smoked a lot more than others! But I could not afford to get lazy from smoking,I had the MUNCHIES to support! The more I smoked, the more I ate and the more ate the more I had to work to pay for the food. Glad to be retired now, don't smoke! don't work! but damned If I ain't still munching! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A friend of mine has an apple orchard. At picking time, he used to put hiring ads on the bulletin boards in the local high school. Tons of kids showed up. Now you can count on one hand the number that show. Parents had better start teaching some work ethic or outsiders will have all the jobs. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sam, Imagine if you could get 37 illegals that could do auto restoration work for 8.60 an hour!! You could pop out cars faster than they do on "overhaulin". Thats around 325.00 an hour for 37 guys! Thats about what the rate is for 2 guys over here...

I do my part. I cut my own lawn, clean my own house, change my own oil, etc. Nobody...not just the kids...wants to be bothered with this stuff anymore. They want the big house & lawn but have no interest in maintaining it....AND no interest in paying fair prices to get it done. We've brought this on ourselves. The landscapers are just being smart businessmen.

I just finished my weekly mowing/edging/trimming hedges front/back. While I was edging out front my across the street neighbor's Mexican yard guys arrived to do his yard. They gave me a cold look and I just smiled at the senior guy and said "How ya' doin." He used to have an old beater '70s Chevy pickup but today he was driving a new, black Dodge crew cab with the trailer of gear on the back. I guess business is good.
