Just an FYI, The Barrett Jackson Car (Torino GT) I Know. Mine has a little more mileage, but better credentials, and if someone wants it as it sits, The first $24,000 will take it.
If I do the few things I want to it, The price will go up slightly, as it is way under the market now.
This 429 is a Bargain.... Time to move her along too.

Here's what I would do to the Torino.
1. New Dual Exhaust, what's there is servicable but showing it's age. New Chrome Tips as well.
2. Detail Undercarriage, Very Very Carefully as All Factory Markings are Still Present and what should be Oxide is oxide, and blue is blue...You get the idea.
3. And I would spring for a Full Blown Marti Report. Of Course, My GT's Buildsheets were Decoded and Signed as is the Car by Mr. Bill Shenk, the man who Designed the Torino for FORD 1970-71. I take His word over even a Marti, though the Mati would give exactly how many like this were built.
Mr Shenk, and the Fairlane club, believe it to be One of One in this Color (Pastel Blue) with "N" Code 429, 4 Speed, and Open Rear End and the Topper, Hide-A-Way Headlamps.
If you want to know how Rare Hide-A-Way Headlamps are, Ask Me I will Tell you, To get replacement Headlamp Doors cost me $1200 on E-Bay. I Beat Mr Shenk out for them.
Torino GT 429's are Underpriced, a Lot of Bang for the Buck.
Grab it now.

Hi Folks,
I just took a Close look at the Torino GT that Barrett Jackson Sold for $42,000 with Buyers fees, and remebered I beat that car out at a couple shows in Massachusetts.
It's Engine Compartment is a MESS, It's Interior needs a complete re-do. Dear God, the Stuff that sells a BJ.
And Mine has Hide-A-Way Headlamps plus, Mine is a Whole Lot Cleaner and Detailed and...
and, and a WHOLE LOT CHEAPER...
Maybe I'm Crazy, But I'll honor $24K for mine.
Take a Close Look at the Barrett Jackson GT and then look at Mine. I think you will agree.

i like the torino,too,but..

im only asking 24k for my w-31,but i would never compare my w-31 to the last w-31 that sold at B-J for 52k,because it's NOT THE SAME CAR.

,you cant compare prices prices at B-J because some of the bidders are drunk, and the seller might have bought his own car back.

My Wife has a severe dislike for Craig Jackson as he Judged her class at Meadowbrook Concours, and discounted everything she said. He did not like talking to a woman who knew anything about cars.
No, I will Never sell a Car through Barrett Jackson. He doesn't need my money.
I would rather sell my cars at a Fair price to someone who will care for it as we have.

True as a seller you have the right to Bid on your own car, So 100% sell through, I think not. However The GT at Barrett Jackson came from Massachusetts and I am in Rhode Island, My Torino GT was up against that car twice at shows in the past several years.
I beat that car both times. His engine compartment is sad and "rusty".
I hope the buyer there looked that car over real good. If the pictures show it, it is usually worse in person.
Photo here is of My Engine.

maybe you should rethink your sales strategy..

how about you quit badmouthing somebody else's car that sold for 20k more than you want, and quit bad mouthing an auction company that never took a dime of yours..

and say some positive things about your car..

you know the car im talking about,it's the one youll eventually take 15k for.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

You are right,
I should not compare my Torino GT to the one that Sold at Barrett Jackson.
Mine has taken
2nd Place at the Fairlane/Torino National Meet 2004
Best Detailed at Hillsdale 2005
Best Closed Muscle Car- Fairfield County Concours 2006
was featured in
Hemmings Muscle Machines - November 2005
Is in 2007 Muscle Car Calendar http://www.browntrout.com
May 2007 car.
Oh, Mine is One of 17 Torino's Verified as Correct, and Signed by Mr Bill Shenk, the man who designed the 1970-71 Torino, and is in the "Shenk Signature Series" #17 of 17 as an offshoot of the Fairlane Torino Club. Mr Shenk decoded my buildsheets and signed them in his own handwritting.
I could keep going, but I will run out of space.
My car has Provenance. The one at B-J, NaDa!
And as The Marti Report people say, almost every car they certify turns out to be a 1 of 1, by Color, Engine and options.
Yes, I should not compare My Torino GT to the one at B-J...
Mine is significantly better.

Sorry Andy,
But I have met Craig Jackson several times and all were less than exciting. He's lucky his Dad was who he was and his Mom knew what to do with a buck, otherwise he would be just a "used car salesman". Oh wait, that's what he is...
On the other hand, The knowledge base here at "Supercar" Put's anything he has or they have at B-J to shame...
If you haven't met Mr. "J", count yourself lucky.
