I bought this car last year with intentions of cleaning and preserving it, When I bought it it had original paint and I tried to save it but ended up painting the car. I just got it back from the paint shop and it still needs to be wet sanded and buffed.

Car has BORN WITH NUMBERS MATCHING Engine, 12 bolt rear, and I believe transmission (I will have to double check) car is was so correct and original so Ive got to believe the trans is also original but I will check.

Original Citrus Green car with Dark green interior, Interior is original with only the front drivers bucket and dash needing replacment.

Engine runs good it is currently out of the car because I was going to detail everything, I put so new gaskets etc just basic freshing. Very solid car, rear of truck pan by the tail light could use alittle minor minor work but definately doesnt need replacing.

The first few pics are when I bought the car and the rest are as it is in the current state.

Car has factory 12 bolt with sway bar, gauge package with tach, tilt wheel, console, Citrus Green, Good solid legit easy project. I can drop the motor back in if needed.

PRICE 17k FIRM. I have more than that into it. 507-208-0191

Looks like a 350 Hp L34. Is the rear gear a 3.31 posi?

Very nice car for the money, should be a looker when finished.

Its a 396/350hp car. The car is very solid and all there.

I'll check the rear end number tommorow.. Ive never looked for a built sheet where are all the locations there in on a 70? Maybe I get lucky and find one.

Looks like a Van Nuys built Camaro with BL on the trim tag. The LA plant frequently put build sheets on top of the gas tank before installation. With a little luck it may still be there. Also, check under the carpet, behind the rear seat, in the front seats, etc. My 70 Z-28 is a LA built Camaro that once spent time in Minnesota (I found a parking receipt for University of Minnesota dated late 1970 under the seat)and ended up in Georgia. Good thing since the car has virtually no rust.

Also, check the axle tube stamping for the three letter code and build date. I found the VIN stamped on the Turbo 400 right above the pan rail on the drivers side. The LA plant sometimes used letters of different font sizes. Can you post a pic of the Engine, Trans, and Rear Axle stamp? Thanks,

Paul

Looks like a very decent solid project car. I wish that I were a bit closer, so the shipping wouldn't be such a huge factor. If I could swing by with my trailer, I would be there to check it out.

I've got two LA built 70 L34s, and I found the build sheets for each of them under the carpet pad in front of and under the drivers seat.

Finally made it out to my buddies shop (he is putting new seal etc in the motor) Checked trans tonight it also it 100% original and correct it still has the tag and the vin is clearly legible on the lower driver side (thanks Greg). The car is so unmolested Im really starting to have second thoughts about selling it will be a cool car when its complete.

You are looking for one of the most difficult, and rarest 2nd Gen. part...The elusive BB fan shroud. I was very fortunate to get my hands on a NOS one a while ago. I also sold a used one that I repaired last year. I had 2 that were damaged, and I was able to put one good one together out of them. I cut them each in half, and put the top of one onto the bottom of the other. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

...I think that is a great car...It seems to me that the 1970's 396 camaros are alot harder to find then even the 1969 396 camaros....someone can make some money on that car ..with a little detailing... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Since this one is sold......
My buddies got a 70 Formula 400, full Doc's and Numbers. He wanted 18 for it, but I have been able to convince him that that's a little steep for today's prices. I'd think you can get it for a few thou cheaper if you are interested....

See the thread below if interested.

Yep......
Funny how it can take months to sell a car, and once it is, everyone wants it? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Les, did you ever find that LS6 you were lookin for?
