Anybody read this new book by Joe Oldham? Auto journalist during the day with original photos and experiences. Baldwin Motion fans will especially like the cover and related story. One of the better muscle car books out there

I would also like to know where I can get a copy. I remember reading some articles by him and they were always interesting.

It is a very good read, I read it on my flight from Phoenix to Anchorage last week.
Thanks to Mark, when we went shopping for the book there was only one so he let me buy it.

I picked one up last weekend at Borders. Kinda expensive at $35.00 but it is hard cover and is well worth the money. A great read with some fantastic stories. I love the chapter on street racing along with the photos. People seem to forget that these cars were built to wage battle on public roads in the middle of the night.

Just ordered a copy thru Amazon and added the Wangers "Glory Days" book as well for my summer reading pleasure.

Just got my copy yesterday. Great book! Mopar guys will love what Oldham says about the first '70 Hemi Cuda convert (red/red car) and Mopars in general back in those days. Great chapter on his '69 B-M Camaro as well as all the street racing on Cross Bay Boulevard, the Connecting Highway, etc. Two thumbs up. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

And some cheesy staged shot with the beautiful Sonoran Desert as a back drop...

Good book.....I like Joe's pen.He has a voice that comes thru in print very well. All of the pics in the book have been published one time or another with Cars and other Marty S. publications.Still a great read.....I like the story about the CEO of AMC screaming at him after a road test http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Got a copy Friday from a local book store. Good read, liked the way Joe referred to "his notes of the day" rather than recounting everything from memory.
Definitely a good read.

Just got my copy for b-day this week. Love the stories. Got a big laugh out of AMX rear tire coming off and Joe getting a call from AMC President declaring he over abused the car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Or, how about buying a Motion modified 69 SS Camaro only to have it stolen 2 months later. Book simply reinforces I was born 20 years too late. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

A good read for those that love these cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Also, on page 46 it looks like you can still see the silohette on fender where hockey stick stripe was removed from 69 SS Camaro.

The drag test of the '73 Z-28 was scary indeed.
