Seeking any info..or old photos, etc. from 67 Z-28...originally Red w/white stripes..called Chantilly Lace back then ...Car has been custom painted a number of times, but still is totally original panels w/T-3's and all...now has mailbox hood and metalflake!!...raced from new to early 70's by owner Joe Burden at Indy, Beech Bend, Action, Bunker Hill...Stored since then...never street driven..I have many old time slips...high tens and low 11's!! Are there any resources to find NHRA results and/or old newspaper archives on line?? Especially for the Indy Nats.around 1970.

i actually think its a scoop molded to the original hood...if you look in the pic...the car came with different versions of the fiberglass mailbox hoods!! They are sitting on the roof...I guess he was trying different setups...the car is really old school with the big rad hose clamp on the gas pedal for a safety..and the block of wood under the clutch pedal......and the old roll bar and suspension setup...Joe (the original owner)said that he got a 'top secret' document out of chrysler on how to set up the suspension for the Dana and the Hemi-cuda drag cars...so he went and bought a new Dana 60 and set the car up as per the chrysler papers... I'll try to get a few more pics now that the car is out of the container...

Wow. Sure brings up a few questions (I won't take offense if you tell me to MMOB)...
You say you have the car out of the container, have you purchased it? (if you have, quite a score!)
Have you been able to definitively convince yourself it is a Z? Have you researched the VIN? Any docs besides the timeslips? Have you checked the telltale Z indications?
Any goodies in the trunk or with the car, like original components?
Again, just being nosey... outstanding find...

The car came up for sale a number of years back and i just bought it on a whim...(and after meeting the original owner and hearing all the 'racing' stories)...knowing that I would not have time to restore it right away,I put it right in the container the day I got it home and it is just in the past month or so seeing the light of day in years, as I have brought it out and it is now in my garage. It has been basically stored since the early 70's... Jerry M. was at my garage just recently and saw the car...its definitely real.
