You just have to Love the IDIOTS responding to the post on the other site. The paperwork is BULLET proof. Nearly all of the LS-6 went to the track and half were blown up. I would much rather have one with paperwork like that . The window sticker and delivery sheet is better than a Build sheet !! There even beating up the guy about his joking about the looked in his barn and found this. Its just a shame the Negative feedback these posts get from people who don't have a clue or were in diapers when these cars were changing hands in the late 70's to mid eighties. Some of Us have forgotten more than they will ever know and We don't voice our opinions loosely. I still respect that self proclaimed Camaro expert that tried to deter Me from buying that 69 camaro with Z emblems front and rear. Its not a Z its a clone You don't wan't to do that, He said as I payed the Guy. I said its Ok I know that I'm Ok with paying that for it. The guy told Me I was crazy , I smiled and Said No that wasn't a Z it was a COPO 427 Camaro that I just bought , You'd better read a little more as He looked Perplexed.

Thanks Mark!
Here are two gems from the Team Chevelle thread:
"I just don't get the craze with everything that has something to do with an LS6."
"I don't see what people are so excited about here."

I wouldn't exactly call that paperwork BULLET proof. Window stickers have been reproduced for years now, and they're getting better at making them look old too. POP's are being reproduced also to near perfection, how hard would it be to credit card imprint that over the pre-delivery sheets that are also being reproduced? BTW, that one looks awful new for 37 years old. I'll take the good old fashioned build sheet any day as there is one thing they can't duplicate on it no matter how good the font and information is on it. Just my .02 on it. BTW, there are some very intelligent people on TC.

Mike...there are a LOT of really knowledgeable people over at TC....I know I've gained quite a bit of knowledge there.
Personally I think the car is cool. There will always be people that will argue whether a LS6 Chevelle that is missing it's original engine is still an LS6...
I guess it gives people something to do with their time...LOL http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I know the owner personally and this is a true LS-6. He said he has not looked for the build sheet, so it may still be there.
They reproduce all sorts of paperwork today. The bottom line is a person looking to spend that kind of money *needs* to do their homework. I also know the guy who raced this car in the early 70's - he's a mechanic here in Kalamazoo.
The guy selling this is a good honest guy.

Hey Rob, I strictly replied to the bullet proof statement in a hypothetical way. I see the seller has a great e-bay rating and that carries it's own weight and he is no doubt a great guy. I totally agree that anyone interested needs to do their homework and go look at it. No doubt the car has great potential and I hope it finds a new good owner to restore it.

My post was more aimed at the people that were being so critical and even taking personal shots at him. He is a friend of mine and I probably should have put my post on the Chevelle website - not here. Sorry, I didn't mean to jump on anybody here including you... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bill, i'll throw in my .02 cuz that's all it's worth.Looks to have been well taken car of,interior looks quite nice,trunk also..documented two owner LS6 with track records?? one could do far worse.Not the most popular color but I dig it personally.Sounds like the original owner is available so maybe he would sign an affidavit attesting to the cars originality..might even have some pics from the track back in the day, perhaps time slips and track record print outs that would be pretty cool.
Hey Rob;
Do You remember the Red, White, and Blue 70 SS454 convertible that was in Kalamazoo until the mid 90's. I bought it from a guy named Doug who had several killer Chevelles including a 9 second 65 in yellow.
