I had to post this because I am so mad http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif that I can't see straight (can barely type). I wanted to ask for suggestions on handling an absurd problem.

My wife just called to tell me that she saw one of the construction workers from across the street walk onto our property and use our shrubs for an outhouse.

All I want to do is take a 2x4 and teach him some AMERICAN http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif manners and lessons on respect. But, I know where that will get me.

I know they will be gone when I get home, so I am trying to find a solution for tomorrow.

Has anyone else dealt with anything like this?

position him with just enough rope so that he can cover the perimiter of your yard, make sure that the rope doesn't appear too strong or sturdy, giving would be yard users the impression that the rope could give way at any time.

i think they will avoid your yard rather than risk the consequences.

While the dog solution may keep him off your property, should the dog bite him, there's a chance you could be at fault.
It's to your advantage that your wife saw this instead of you. Call the local police agency and file a report. Having your wife give the officer the story would also be a good thing as it does add to the indecient exposure side vrs trespassing. Bottom line is the const co should have a porta potty on site. You have a legitimate bitch.

If your bushes are the new 'spot' for this crew, it may be worth considering hanging a 'security looking' but dead video camera in view and save having to confront anyone...may help avoid any resulting retaliation too?.

We had a home under construction across the street from us and there are little kids that live in the area. They were using the woods behind the house for relieving themselves. A call to the builder resulted in a porta-poty being delivered to the sight. That caused it's own set of troubles. When the builder didn't pay for the fee on the unit, they stopped cleaning it. Of course, it stunk to high heaven. Bottom line is that the builder must provide some type of facilities and I believe it's a law.

Call the police and tell them that the guy was exposing himself (which is true) and that there are kids in the area who could have seen it. I would imagine they would view the incident as a bit more serious.

I would have the Wife point him out and inform him personally that the Company and Police have been notified of his indecent exposure.Maybe that will make him mad enough to swing at you and then you can kick his ass in self defense legally.Just have a good witness or two to back you up.The construction Company probably ain't going to do squat other than laugh when they hang up the phone after you post your complaint with them.Afterall they are too cheap to pay rent on a porta can and too cheap to hire non Illegals!! The Police may do something being it was a male that exposed himself where your Wife seen the incident occur!Personally I would try to piss him off enough to take a swing at me,but then that is just me. I found out that it isn’t just one guy, it’s the whole crew.

Here is what I learned today at my LPD.
1. The Police won’t even file a report unless they personally witness the incident. I have to call while the SOBs are in action.
2. I will go to jail if I warm them over with a paintball gun (I thought of that one too Joe).
3. I can't even confront them in person, after seeing the Police, or else be accused of instigating an incident if anything happens.
4. Basically I’m SOL until the Police catch one of them in action.

Sam these guys are dumping where my kids and niece play.

Steve, they didn’t care what I said. They have to catch them in the act. PERIOD.

Bobby, I know what you mean. But now I am stuck because I did the right thing and went to the Police first. I can’t do anything now or possibly get prosecuted myself.
If my Great- Grandmother were still alive she would have already added a few more Mexican scalps to her trophy pole.

I’ll let you know if the Police actually do anything about this.
I think I will be better off calling the Board Of Health Monday and let them do something about it as a health hazard.

Videotape them, even if you're just using your celphone for a 15 second clip. Then call the cops and send a copy to a local TV investigative reporter. Those reporters love confronting people in these types of "lifestyle" issues, both the police for not acting, and the construction company for letting it happen. Makes for great word of mouth publicity for their future clientelle.

This happened recently at a golf course where the upper scale clientelle were constantly pissing on this guy's lawn and shrubs. He set up a video camera and posted all of the videos on line. He then called the local reporters who did a story on it.

its a real shame things have are so out of wack any more..started years ago if your car was broken into they just filed the report over the phone..no one cared..now the police cant be troubled to roll up to the const site and ask around if anything like this may have happened today...no sir etc.. then it would probably have stopped...and now the home owner has to be worried about litigation if he says or does anything...WTF?

I'll tell you what, a friend of mine was building a shed in a client's backyard and had to urinate. Since no one was home he stepped into some bushes where he thought it would be safe and relatively discreet. Nope, woman on the street behind noticed him from her kitchen window and his "parts" and yelled something ignorant. He yells back, she calls police and he's arrested and charged with indecent exposure and now is now a registered sex offender on "the list". What a way to ruin your life.

That is a shame that the Police won't do anything about it.Maybe you can rig a shocking device that when they pee on it or the ground they will get a very large but low amp of current and possibly run off and not return.I have heard of using a MODEL T coil and rigging them up to do something like this.A guy that I used to know when I lived in the CITY had a problem with a certain dog peeing on the custom wheels of his truck.So he told me a story how he rigged this model T coil to shock the dog!I am not sure if the story was true but I laughed like hell when he told it and at the time it sounded true and the expression the guy had while telling the story looked as though he was truthful.Especially the way he described the dog running off after the shock!Where I live I would actually watch for them to return(BEING I AM RETIRED AND HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO)and when he seems to be about relieved I would run about 15 rounds through my "FINELY TUNED" AK47! Of course just firing into the ground!Then I would watch to see if the bastards had nerve enough to return.That is what I would do but I am about HALF CRAZY! LOL What you can do is go get some NO TRESPASSING SIGNS about 10 of them! Mount them on some wooden stakes and post them around your property line where these dirt bags are doing this.If they tresspass call the Police again to report them for tresspassing and see if they will arrest them for that.Thay would be easily taken down in the evening to be reinstalled in the AM.I know it would not be the prettiest site but you have to try something to deter these knot heads. I certainly hope that you are able to stop these knot heads from doing this.I know I certainly would be pissed off from them doing it on my property.And probably to the point I might not shoot into the ground the second time! LOL

You might want to try this approach: Put on a suit that looks like an INS agent would wear, then go across the street and start asking to see green cards. If they already know your face, ask a friend. Make sure that he pulls up in a dark colored Taurus. Then call Homeland Security and tell them you "suspecet" that there are illegle arab workers who are acting in a suspecious manor.
Remember, our Government is here to help us.
