Could the sun be reflecting the red engine paint onto the firewall? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I agree with what Bill said....and the comment by Andy wasn't needed in the first place, anyways. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Engine bay is nicely detailed for a car which gets driven to cruise nights. My pics are not as good as Kwizz, Xplantdad or many others..

This is an unrestored car with one repaint and some minor detailing. It has never been all apart.

Trunk drop offs are original and undercoated while floor pans have very little if any factory undercoating.

AM radio and 3.42 posi. Clock is not working. Runs and drives tight and straight.

I nearly bought one of these in 1976, but it was "banana yellow". I loved the console in the automatic version. I'd probably be dead now if I bought that car.

I have a GSX magazine article from 1970 titled "Electric Banana" and I always think of that. I love those cars. When I'm back in Chicago, I always drive down the street where that car was for sale 31 years ago hoping the car may still be there.

Ok, that story qualifies for a pass. We picked up a Saturn Yellow "X" from the original owner in Harvey, just outside of Chicago. It was auto A/C, found the build sheet. The car was Sold out of Bauer Buick.

I've heard of some interest in mint 4-speed Stage 1 X cars in the 250K-300K range. My .02 cents.

If so, this sound like a fair deal for this non-stage car.

This is Janelle McHam's former "X" The Car was featured in the May 1992 issue of Muscle Car Review. It was a second place winner at the Buick Nationals back in 1987 and 1989.

I have the original 11" x 17" build/broadcast sheet, which was found in the car.

It is also listed in the Buick GSX registry and Historical Society as the 373 GSX built in 1970.

The engine is NOM.

The Build date on the trim Tag is 04C and the body number 233994 does match the build sheet. The Wayne Roberts information/registry is taken from GM Microfiche and seems to have been possibly misread.

"It's real. I painted it in the 80's when Janelle owned it. I pulled the broadcast sheet out of the left pillar post. Fondly remember going street racing in it in Shreveport, LA. I know most of the back round on the car if anyone is interested.", Bob Lorenz Jr. (Borrowed from v8Buick.com).

It's real and it's documented!

I spoke with Wayne Roberts today. The Buildsheet, trim tag and Microfiche all match up on this GSX. It seems that he transposed a couple of numbers on the GSX Historical Paper work, which he had mailed out.

It seems that this Mickey Thompson 8 pac intake set-up may have been on this Buick back in 1985. Anyone ever run one on the Street?

Hello Stefano,

Here is the link to my Nova at CarsOnline:

http://www.cars-on-line.com/30852.html

(double click on pictures to super size)

1966 Chevy Nova SS

Chevy Nova SS. 327/350 HP Factory L79. Two documented owners and miles. Four speed, 12 bolt posi. This car is in incredible condition. Un-restored original factory Marina Blue. Never apart or repainted except for the trunk lid when a tow bar was dropped many years ago by the original owner. Also, the lower part of the right front fender was scraped pulling into the garage. The original trim is incredible. Front and rear original bumpers were re-chromed because of the tow bar marks, and ding in the rear. The interior is 100% original and like new. No wear or fade on carpet. Dash, door panels, headliner, dash pad, seats & seatbelts look like a car with 17,000 miles. The rear is original to the car. 373 rear ratio. M21 is original to the car. A correct dated L79 is in the car which has the original intake, heads, distributor (#154) and exhaust manifolds. The original block was just repaired by “Lock & Stitch” at a cost of $1,200. It has external water jacket cracks. The car will come with either the original shifter, or the Hurst. Also, with the stock wheels, hub caps, and radials. The paint is very good, but is 42 years old. When is the last time you saw an un-restored L79 with this low of miles? I have the original protecto plate, the title from the original owner, pictures from when the car was new, etc. Also, the original block is standard bore with no ridge or taper. Nova Photos
Price - $ 95,000

If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me, or call me at 707-246-4662
