For those of you that have seen the Pace Car for sale here, this is one of the other cars in the "collection" that I bought. Original drivetrain, POP, orginal owner. Like the pace car a few rust issues and the pop can collection went with it.

So I guess that hood was kinda rusty if it bent in half when you tried to open it, and the springs still stayed down. Yow! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

We took the hood off in two pieces. Yow is what I said when I cut my head on the rusty remains of the hood. The original flat hood was in the barn.

My gosh Ohio is rough on cars. Are you going to put it back together?

The roads in Ohio like to be salted and the cars do not. This one I am going to restore.

February 2002 is the last shot. When you are accident prone like me you tend to remember these things.

What is the previous owner going to do with his recyclables now that the camaro is gone?

I would watch how much that resto will cost you. If I knew a good guy like Dan that wanted to buy it up front, that rust bucket would be in his driveway! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

I think he was going to take the cans and the cars to the recycle center at the same time. It takes a different person to leave a car to rot in his driveway for 20 some years. I will drop off a couple recycle bins for him so he does not have to buy a new car!
Good to hear from you Chuck.

[/ QUOTE ] Make sure you search the barn for parts. A few things im certain you wont find are a lawn mover or hedge trimmers http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Although I am backed up on projects, I really want to do this car. I have about 6 cars restored a year and this is one I really want to see completed. How about the pace car Dan? I am planning to drop the price before I list it on ebay.

Chuck,
That is where you are wrong. Behind the corvette is two rusted tractors and 5 rusted lawn mowers. I need to PM you about the barn full of parts I got out of this deal. The blocks and extra parts are going to be outstanding. I will tell you later about why I don't have an inventory yet. When I picked up the pace car he told me to just take the extra DZ block, he did not want anything anymore. The deal I struck with him was to clean the barn out. I will keep you posted.
Thanks,
Cad

Chris ,If you want to sell the pace car but not the Z, you should list the Z for sale ,and say the pacer was the one you want to restore. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif When you go back to pick up the parts you may want to bring a mower and cut the lawn, there could be a few more cars in there

------Great find, Chris!!! If those cans are from Michigan (10 cents a can) you might get the purchase price of everything back. I know from growing up in the Medina area, about the only way to keep an Ohio car from rusting was to just not use it until about July every year and put it away in September..........Bill S

looks like taking this car apart would be the bigger challenge.
just soak the whole car down with some PB blaster, and let it set in for a couple months.
