Don't forget next weekend, at US131 in Martin, MI, the Year One FAST Eaton Spring Nationals!

Loads of Factory Stock cars, as well as the ultra trick Stock Appearing/FAST cars, all doing their thing down the 1/4 mile! Me and Johnny Kat are planning to be there, as is JJ and COPO Pete and the gang, as well as Jim Lerum and some others from the site. Always a great time, and a first class facility & event.

Here's an up to date list of entries: Martin entries (http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=130037)

Add Rusty Small and his gorgeous 69 Hurst to the list. How does anyone get a business trip halfway across the country and get the company to cover the travel expenses?

This oughta be a great event again. My L69 car isn't going to make it yet, so the W31 will be "unretired" and put back into action for this and York.

Picutres loading as we speak. My oldest daughter and I stood and talked with Rob (Chevy454)and Johnnycat for a while. Thanks for the shade in the trailer http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif.
Traction was very minimal for everyone.Tiptoe out about 20ft. then get after it.Rob's practice run when we got there was 12.11sec same as Stanton last year.
Pictures are in no order. As usual all very nice cars.

Hey Kendall! Was great talking to you and your daughter [forgive me, I've forgotten her name! Need some sleeeeeeep...!]

Anyway, track was horrible Friday...I unloaded the car and babied the car down the track just to get it warm and went a 12.35 @ 115+...was downhill from there as the track heated up. Slickest I've *ever* been on, and I've ran in some holes in the wall...I'm talking wagging the tail at 1/8 mile mark or so! It was so bad, a big tired Vega barrell rolled down the track at the beginning of the Friday night program, and then a back-halfed original paint/vinyl top Z went across the track and hit the opposite wall head on past half track...myself, Kat, and Spetzman were standing right where it hit, and we were the first ones over the wall...Kat opened the door and the guy was acting like he couldn't breath. Guy walked away, but ruined every piece on the car, and we had to load the car with a jack and a set of go-jacks.

Anyway, the track crew worked the track a LOT better Saturday, but it still went away in a hurry...I ran a 12.11 @ 117+ right off the trailer, but was downhill from there. Went some more 12.1xs, and ran over 117 all day (high of 117.78!), but 60' times were horrendous. I thought I had a handle on the chassis last season, but now I'm just scratching my head...gonna have to get to Memphis and see where I'm at.

As always, was good to see everyone again...I'll try and post some more #s & details later...

I had a great time but, I was chasing my tail the entire weekend. The track, as stated was CRAP on Friday and the air was very bad. Most everyone was down 2-3 mph.

I managed to meet some new friends and had the toughest shootout race that I have ever had. I had to pull a great light for my second race against Bruno's friend "the Sandman" and his '69 rally green SS Camaro 396 pictured above. I managed to run a best of 13.51 at 101.7 for the weekend. I also managed to get the new tires to hook and I got my first sub 2.0 60'.

Bad1--nice pics!

Rob, after I was done whining to you about the track, I had 2 runs of 128+ & then knocked down an 11.49 in the FAST consolation ladder, maybe I was jumping to conclusions. You're right about the greasy track on Friday though, I was still getting some serious wheelspin down near the lights.

Dad and I both had a good time. I ended up racing instead of spectating and had a best of a 15.01, and again as stated above, friday the track would not hook and i could not get better than a 2.34 sixty foot. Saterday was better and I ended up winning my shootout. Thanks again to Rob and Johnny Kat for helping "Plug" the check valve on the power brakes. Congradulations to Eric Simpson who also won his shoot out, and to everybody who won or had personal bests. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
