How did the GTO get nicknamed "Goat" I asked a GTO owner last week and he didn't know.

Thats a beautiful car!! Speaking of 12 bolts, I recently looked at a 70 GTO body only with a 12 bolt, could that have been original and if so which engine trans combo could that car have come with?

If the car came with a 455 HO (D-Port motor) it would have a 12 bolt regardless of trans, all other cars (GTO's) had a 10 bolt.

Eric, good luck with sale, it's a great car.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

I have had two 70 gto 400 4 speeds with the 12 bolt rear, the axle plant went on strike in 70 and when they ran low on the ten bolt axle they used the twelve bolt, and yes all 455 ho cars had the twelve bolt, love the judge, its a buy at 110k Rich
