Does anyone know of somewhere / someone that I can rent an enclosed car trailer from for a couple of days? I'll be needing it some time in the next three weeks or so.

I've looked at the usual rental stuff (U-Haul, Enterprise, Penske, Budget, etc) and most everyone has open trailers, but no enclosed ones. I've also checked with some regional rental places and the only enclosed trailers available are those little ones for tools and stuff. I need to drag a car back from Iowa.

I'm about 2.0 hours from Indianapolis, 1.5 hours from Cincinnati, and 1.0 hours from Louisville.

I supposed I could have the car shipped, but then I'm at the mercy of someone else's timing and probably a higher cost.

Any options or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think Schoneye should deliver it to you at the Nationals in his box, and kick him the expenses! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif He needs to get out more anyway http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Allen,I've had very good results with http://www.uship.com
This is a website devoted to people around the country who have room in their vehicles and will make room if they can for something to defray their costs. It's like Ebay, only you the recipient list what you have and where it is and going, and shippers compete with their lowest bid amounts for you to obtain it.You pick the winning bid..
They offer up some pretty competive rates that benefit both Driver and Recipient.
I've never shipped a vehicle with anyone from here, but I have had two oil cabinets and an ECO islander delivered to me via them, and I was very satisfied.

When our trailer got ran through, we tried to rent a trailer so we could make the Supercar Reunion...they all told us the same thing, we'd have to buy the trailer at retail, and if it made it back safe and sound they'd they'd give us credit for a used trailer in such condition...naturally, we didn't do it, and we had to pay to have the cars hauled.

I just rented an all enclosed car trailer to trailer my car to a show two weeks ago. I rented it from Taylor Rental here in Cleveland, Ohio. It was $85.00 a day. I was very pleased with it and my experience with Taylor. I have used them a couple of times in the past few years to trailer my car to other shows. I found 1 location for Taylor Rental in Louisville KY. It is located at 6810 Preston Hwy. Louisville, KY P# 502-968-5361. Hope this helps... Rich

Rich,
Thanks for the lead. I tried calling twice, but a recording says their number is disconnected or no longer in service. I did a search for them, and the phone number you posted is correct, but apparently isn't working in Louisville. Bummer. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Rich,
No problem, and thanks for your help. After a couple more phone calls to other area rental places in Louisville, I confirmed that the Taylor Rentals in that area shut down.

I didn't realize enclosed car trailers for rent were so hard to find. No luck yet. If all else fails, I'll just have to use an open flat trailer and a prayer!

A little far from you but there is a place in Holland Mich. that rents enclosed trailers.

Leaving Donahue 2 times in one month is way out of the question! He has a hard enough time going into town. Allen don't worry about the trailer, just drive it home. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Marlin,
Thanks for the offer, but it defeats the whole goal of having my Nova AT the Nationals! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

I'll work something out. If all else fails, I'll put it on a U-Haul flat-bed and drag 'er home just the same way I pulled it out there.

Actually, that'd be fun! But then I'd have to leave my Suburban with you, or bring someone else out to drive it home.

One week countdown to the road trip. If anyone has any last-minute leads, I'd be grateful. Thanks!
