So what was the time frame in which the first 5 digits of the p/n was cast and the last two digits were stamped? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Actually, I have one just like that. Jerry M looked at it while he was here and said that one of the manuf. would cast these in lots and stamp the last two numbers based on applications.......

A $10,000 starting price and a "BIN" for $25,000
The seller should GET AN EDUCATION!
'198 ( stamped ) intakes aren't that rare anymore. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif No way to prove it's real or not.
However, the date is right in there.........
An original ZL-1 engine ( in pieces ) probably wouldn't cost $25,000.00
So this is designed to do nothing more than get attention.
It certainly did that http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif

I have had alot of 198 intakes. Half of them have been stamped like this. In fact I may have sold that one to this guy.

Jason,
Any idea if the "stamped" '198 intakes were originals or
later created? I can't imagine that GM made that many of
the modified ( cut plenum & modifed part number ) intakes
prior to developing the actual '198 casting number change.

The 198s with cast in 98 numbers are worth much more than the stamped 98 intakes.. you can make the latter from a 300.00 163 and many have done so...

Yeah Chuck!
That's sort of my opinion as well. We didn't see many '198's
at all until the word got out. Then, they came out of
the wood work..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
