Here is something for you guys to chew on!!!
Musclecar reunion and Nostalgia drag (http://www.musclecarreunion.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1)
The event is slated for the 1st weekend in October. And it appears that we might have a F.A.S.T./ factory stock event within the confines of this event. Perfect time for all of those Dueces in Iowa to show up and race, right!!!!
Here is the link I have started on the v8Buick site.
web page (http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=133384) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Ladies and gentlemen!!!!!!
I just recieved word today that we are able to make this into the Midwest Regional F.A.S.T. and Factory Stock race. Mark your calenders, shine up the paint, and bring your toy out to play at this big show. F.A.S.T. racing will just be a part of the fun, but I know that I am geeked to have this event in my back yard!!! They were asking that at least 10 people be signed and committed by September 1st. $65 for the race weekend!! Saturday night qualifiying under the lights with some cool October air and a track that sticks like glue. If you are interested in F.A.S.T. and Factory Stock rules go to this website and it will be spelled out for you: F.A.S.T. website (http://www.fastraces.org/) You can also PM myself with your phone number and I will give you a call. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

That hotel is still a good place.
For everyone, this is shaping up to be a big event. We would also like to get some fresh people in the Factory Stock and F.A.S.T. racing. It should be a great time and nighttime qualifying should be a hoot! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

Here is how everything shook out:
#1 Rob Clary- 69 Yenko Camaro- 12.235 @115.53
#2 Jim Spetzmen- '69 Super Bee 440-6-- 12.26 @ 111.73
#3 Wayne Nelson- '68 428 CJ Mustang--12.693 @ 108.04
#4 Kirk Bratka--63 Belvediere Max Wedge--12.868 @ 106.05
#5 Cindy Garrison-- 70 Buick GS Stg 1--14.109 @ 101.07
#6 Joel Nystrom-- Steve's 70 440-6 Cuda--14.486@ 95.93
#7 Kenny Schram-- '63 Fury max wedge--14.511 @102.82
#8 Rusty Small-- '69 Hurst/ Olds-- 14.8 --Broke
We grabbed a guy out of the car show and he was unable to stick around for qualifying--Jim Chapman with a beautiful '64 Fury Max wedge-- He ran a 13.26 for a single run. I think we may have hooked another one!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Hodges! Just a lowly 11.31 at 126!!!!! Way to go buddy, I hope that Virginia is a little better air than what we had this weekend!!!
As for the event, the only thing I could have ask for is more passes (selfish). The track was sticking hard and Jim Spetzmen managed a 1.82 60'.
Somewhere around 450 cars racing, stands filled to capacity and standing room only along the fence. Too hot on Saturday then rained out on Sunday. Did I mention that this is racing and all will be good!

Sharp Nova, AHRA and Dick Harrell Performance Center lettering, got to love that in KC.
http://www.yenko.net/attachments/294062-mcr-21.JPG
Last, a shot of what I took to the event. The '62 Bill Thomas A/FX Nova and the Dick Harrell funnycar. Folks seemed to really enjoy seeing the two cars together, to see how funnycars changed in a very short time.
Having not shown the FC in a couple of years, was a lot of fun. Being this was Dick's home track, got to meet a lot of folks who remembered him.

Need to thank Chris and all of his staff with the Muscelcar Reunion, the folks with KCIR and MAR who handled the track duties, and everyone else who was involved, they put on one heck of an event. Saturday evening's racing under the lights was awesome, everything from FAST, to front engine dragsters, to Pro-mods, funny cars, lots of door cars, something for everyone. Only downer of the weekend was the rain, but even that did not seem to really dampen anyone's spirits.
