Got an e-mail telling me I qualified to become an eBay "Power Seller." It had a link to click on that required my screen name and password. It also said, "Very important! The registration is active only once." I checked my eBay Messages via My eBay and there were no new messages. Forwarded it to eBay "spoof" ([email protected]) and they soon replied that it was a fake e-mail and another attempt to steal my information.

Beware, the bastards will try anything and everything.

I can see them trying that route since e-bay does really push the power seller program for some reason to sellers and it would be easy to make the mistake and think the request was from e-bay.I keep turning it down since I have also been told that power sellers will be the first group they focus on if they ever get the green light to charge us taxes on what we sell.

The key is what he did in the first post to check the email validity. Ebay won't send you anything that isn't also in "my messages" on their website. If it isn't there, it's a scam.
