Somewhere I was reading how to decipher the numbers on a CE block...Can anyone help?

In general:
CE=Chevrolet Engine.
Next digit=Last digit representing year assembled.
Next 5 digits=Sequence number assigned to that block.

I would like to know what sequence you have and cast date. Check the flat surface where the starter bolts to for an assembly date code. My data base on CE blocks is beginning to indicate that more than just a "few" factory supplied replacements were supplied through GMPD.
