Thanks to everyone who bought a car(s), as I know first hand this is not easy, nor cheap. Thanks to all who pitched in to make the event run smooth, your efforts allowed me to relax, and have a blast. Thanks for Helen and Nancy Gibb, Mel and Bart Bogus, Lynn Yenko and son Alex for spending the weekend with us, allowing us to be a part of their extended “supercar” family.

For some reason, and I do not know why, there seemed to be a special feeling in the air this year, almost as if we had returned to 1998 and SCR1. I have been hearing the last year or so how the musclecar hobby is soft, especially the Chevy side of things. I do not believe it. We had at least four professional journalists covering the event this year, three that I know there shooting stuff for upcoming books. Of course the usual parade of articles, featuring cars from SCR10, will be appearing in numerous musclecar magazines during the next several months.

We had several firsts (that I know of). Four Motion Corvettes racing. A pair of 1969 Yenko 427 Novas racing side by side. The only known L-89 Nova on display. Three Dana Chevrolet cars on display. All eight colors of Yenko Deuces on display, 12 in all. Because some of the Deuces were never in Canonsburg, (some went to Hurst), even Yenko Chevrolet never had all 8 colors together. Not a first, but very rare, all 6 colors of Yenko Camaro together.

My favorite moments, of course most at the track. Late in the day, watching Ken Barnhart and Pete Gerling going at it head to head, Ken 10.20s, Pete 10.70s. Pete and Dru doing their burnouts together. The Deuce shootout, with 8-9 involved. The bracket race, always fun to see who can prevail. Congrats to all of the winners. Getting to run my cars, with Nancy Gibb as my co-pilot. For the first time since SCR1, I got a chance to sit in the stands and watch part of the action. All I can say is WOW! Hats off to everyone who made a pass.

Was great to be on hand when Mel Bogus slide behind the wheel of his Yenko demo car for the first time since 1969, the grin from ear to ear said it all. A special moment when Mel took the stage at the banquet, to see just how special the SCR has become, not only to us, but to the folks who made the history. Enjoyed hearing Lynn Yenko talk about spending time around the dealership and with her dad. Of course no one tires of visiting with Helen Gibb. Her smile is contagious. Always fun to see the “first timers” rolled out the trailers. As usual, we had several this year, both restored and survivors.

And finally, at least for now, the answer to the question I was asked most often this weekend.. With SCR10 history, will there will be a SCR11 and beyond? Yes.

Thanks for having us. It was like a trip back in time watching that classic and rare muscle out there on the 1/4 mile, the exact place that it was built for. What sums up SCR10 for me is a bunch of fantastic cars and a bunch of fantastic people that have a passion for this hobby that we love so much. You could really feel an excitement in the air during the whole weekend. It's hard to explain, but I definatly feel a pride in being invited and able to experience this event. I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did.

It was a fantastic weekend and I am honored to be able to be a part of it.

Like TC said, there was indeed a "special feeling" in the air. There were way too many highlights to list, (see photos) so all I will say is, if you haven't made it a priority to make it to an SCR, I can not emphasize how much you should.

I've only had a car at 2 of 10 and honestly have had a terrific time each and every year. I've always said that if we all just showed up in rental cars and a change of clothes we could all still have a great weekend just hanging out with each other and swapping stories. All the awesome cars at the reunion are great, but its the PEOPLE who really make the show such a super event. If you weren't there this year, don't miss it next year.. FIrst I would like to thank the Clary family for the hard work in once again hosting the SCR. I was very proud to be one of the lucky few that were recognized with a "Decade Award" for attending all ten SCR. That was a real surprise and, it still amazes me that the time flys so fast. I cannot even imagine a year not attending. This is the ONLY show we work the calander around. All of the hard work that the guys at the Super Car Workshop and friends, like Frank, Franny, Keith, George, Bernie and others get great joy in showing off the latest restorations. I cannot think af a better venue.

I have to say that there were quite a few great memories that will be taken away with this SCR, but by far meeting Mel Bogus and his son Bart was a highlight. Mel spoke from the heart and it showed at the banquet. Reuniting him with "his" Yenko Camaro was very special to me and many others. Thank you Mel for being there. And a close second was meeting Roberto from Mexico City. Flying to Chicago and then driving to the SCR was a true testiment to his dedication to the hobby. And to get to see his 67 DANA Camaro was amazing as well.

I would also like to give a big thank you to the media guys that covered the event. The legendary Bob McLurg and one of my old friends Tom Shaw both covering the event was very special. And I would also like to extend a thanks to Dave Newhart for the work he does. His books are true works of art, and I look forward to seeing some SCW cars in print. That is the finishing touch on the restorations, having guys like you want to put the cars in print. Makes the long days and night worth it.

And as always its great to see old friend and their cars. If you have a car, or not, its really not important, its the community of the hobby. Friends enjoying the cars, the stories and the latest finds. Having a beer and enjoying a laugh. Thats why the reunion is such a great success. Its not a mass produced show, its a family. Its fitting the show is called the Super Car REUNION and not just another show. Thanks to the Clareys and all the volunteers for all their hard work. It was a great time. Fun was seeing Kasey go down the strip for the first time in years. He was only gonna make one pass. I tried to bet him 20.00 that he would make more than one. He finished his pass and was right back in the staging lane. Also great to see Darrell make a few passes till Nikki blocked his way back to the staging lane. Darrell had never been down the 1/4 mile before but after the first pass I think he was hooked. I really want to encourage any other Supercar owners that have never done the drag race portion to come and try it. You don't have to worry about being fast or looking stupid because you have never done it before. For me it has turned into a very fun part of the event. Yes it can be a bit intimidating at first but we are there to walk you thru it and I have yet to see anyone not make a second pass once they make that first one. Maybe other first time drag racers can chime in on their experience. You have no idea how hard I worked on Darrell and Nikki, starting at Carlisle. Now I think they are hooked.
Another great part of the weekend was when about 10 of us headed to the go kart track on Sat night. Think Demo derby with track workers looking the other way.......

I was gonna buy a computer keyboard , remove a few certain keys and award it to Kasey at the banquet but it might have tipped him over the edge to///////////PERMANENT--------CAPS((((((((LOCK!!!!!!!!
Thanks to the gang at Legendary Motors for bringing the L89 Nova for us all to enjoy. Thanks to the Supercar Workshop gang for all their hospitality and bringing such great cars. Another note is that my brother Erik is the only one of the 8 who has been to all 10 reunions simply because he loves the hobby and the people associated with it... he hasn't had a car there(yet) but plans his life around making sure he gets to SCR every year. At 27, he's been coming to SCR's for over 1/3 of his lifetime! Pretty cool.

We must have knocked Charley around too much go karting - I think he took a hard hit to the head? For the record, I didn't hit my head in that damn trailer - it was my back and boy did that smart. Next year we need Gags back at the go kart event, it really wasn't fair for us to go counter-race and keep ramming Charley and Mike G. Hey, in my defense, I didn't think Cana took me seriously when I pointed to those two guys and said "go get 'em" LOL. Who knew that $35 slipped in the hand of a 18 year old go kart track "official" could buy so much track time and make them look the other way for all of it?? Certainly one of the highlights of the weekend.

One last note: I think we all learned a valuable lesson at the track on Friday- never let your resto guy insist on "concours correct" fasteners for your crank pulley http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif They tend to shear off after a couple of runs and then you have to drive by the smelting plant in St. Louis to get to Bob's Auto Parts to buy a drill bit, and easy-out, and then raid Pete's trailer for bolts and tools. It has been said here many times, but out of all the clubs I am in this group is the most down to earth, fun, and genuine group of true "car guys" you'd ever hope to find.

To tell you the truth, I didn't think there was enough time to get it done. Brandon Barr has to get a good deal of credit for this one. He was the one that tracked down Mels son Bart who joined the board just weeks prior to the show. He PMed Bart to see if Mel was a relation, and bingo it was his Dad. I inturn PMed Bart just to talk to his Dad about his involvment with Yenko and about the gold demo Camaro. A few days later Mel called the shop. I was floored that he called. We talked for a good hour, and I asked him knowing the SCR was just a few weeks away if he would come. Being such short notice I figured maybe SCRXI would be a more logical goal. But to my surprise Mel was able to attend with Bart. Sooo, an emergency trip to Baltimore and rounding up another trailer/truck for SCRX was put into motion. With Mel there, we needed the gold demo. Barry agreed and he in turn also changed his plans and attended the SCR. So many people to thank, and I'm sure I'll forgot someone, so forgive me! Firstly, all the folks who brought cars, memorabilia, or just an enthusiam for these old cars...without y'all, this could never happen! Also, all y'all that liked the nametags and dash placards, thank Dennis Cumby and his printing skills! And those of you who liked the parking job and layout of the cars inside the Gateway Center, then thank Bob Ashton and Johnny Kat for leaving the racing fun early to mark off the floor. And you folks who got another cool (and free!) "sYc" cap, once again thank Steve Sandlin...he also sent a few SWEET cars for our viewing pleasure! All of you who enjoyed Friday night's festivities, thank our special guest speakers Bob McClurg, Lynn Yenko, and Mel Bogus, as well as our talented &amp; entertaining auctioneers, the Barr brothers! Thanks go out to the Mayor &amp; First Lady for not only running the Deuce shootout, but the bracket race as well...and big Mo for his duties at the starting line! I'd also like to extend a personal *thanks* to Brian &amp; Joe and the rest of the SCW gang...when dad hung out his neck to put together SCR1, Brian gave us his word that we'd not just be a lone Yenko Camaro sitting in a grass lot in the middle of Tennessee...from that Labor Day weekend almost 10 years ago, all that you saw this past weekend was spawned.

And as impressed as I was about the show itself, the part that probably touched me the most was the outpouring showed at the auction...not only by the bidders knowing that the proceeds were going to a good cause, but by the folks willing to help by donating items, some by folks that knew they couldn't make it!

My hats off to anyone who has ever brought a car to a SCR, but the ones who attended SCR1 will always hold a special place in SCR history. An outdoor show, with drag racing, for dealer built cars only. Talk about a leap of faith for those attending.

Following the event I had more then one owner tell me "you know, we really did not expect much, but came anyway to help you out. What a pleasant surprise".
