Has anyone installed a complete flowmaster exhaust system with a crossflow muffler and that exits where the originals
exited.Online it looks like the system exits at the rear bumper http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifThanks Bob

I have it on my 68 L78 nova. I cut it just behind the rear tires. It sound's nice. If you leave it alone with no modifications, it will look just like the camaro exsaust. Exiting just short of the rear bumper.

Go with a Pypes system, no cutting required, no obnoxious noise, sounds good under throttle, and will improve your performance.

LOL...Marlin shocked himself with his new exhaust by knocking about a second off his 1/4 mile time. It no longer sounds like grannys car.

Canuck-Installed this system and am in love with the fit. Can hardly see it. BUT I do not like the sound. Very loud and alot of resonance. Sounds nice at a cruise but shakes the windows in the garage at idle. I have heard this from others as well with this system. maybe you would get a better sound with the BBC.

My car has a nice sound in my opinion. I like it. I have had alot of people complement me on the sound. It does have a nice rumble at idle. You were asking about pictures. I didn't like the look of the tailpipes exiting the back and being to short and to low. I cut them just behind the rear tires. Were the bend is. It isn't the stock location but close.

tabooo, you can't compare the Gardner system to the Pypes system because they serve two different purposes. The Gardner system is the best system for concourse stock judging, I installed it on my car and took first place at the Nova Nationals judging. The Pypes system is the best system for performance with stock appearance, I think my ET & MPH improvement prove it.

I still have my Gardner system, it is safely stashed in storage.

Hmmmm..... I forgot about those Cragar end tables.... I'll have to see what I can do over the winter.....

Yea, that Pypes exhaust system rocks! I've got the proto-type on my car, it really works! I did nothing else to the car, and it picked up .75 in the ET and about 6mph - that's huge!

If we get some better weather, I'm supposed to take bunch of digi-pics of me and the car with a nice backdrop for their ad campaign. We'll see though, today's weather is not helping for any pics this weekend!

The system has a transverse muffler, two in two out, with the entry/exits at the ends of the muffler. The flowmaster transverse muffler has the entry into the top, and exits from the ends - totally gay. The tailpipes are the key to this system looking stock in my opinion, bec/ that is the only part that 90% of the people see. When you have round pipe, polished up nicely, angle cut at the tip, and exiting in the stock location - it's practically foolproof. The only way to tell that it's not stock is to notice the diameter of the pipe itself - the originals were 2" and these are 2.5". So, kudo's to them for getting it right!

Well worth the money in my opinion.

Not sure, I'll check their site to see - whatever it is, it's nice, not obnoxious, and no resonance. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
