Kim, I like your message about the people being more important than the cars http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif It's time that more folks in the hobby realize this....the cars are nothing without the people....I've never seen one yet that could drive by itself http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"Kim, I like your message about the people being more important than the cars It's time that more folks in the hobby realize this....the cars are nothing without the people....I've never seen one yet that could drive by itself "

More and more people comin around to our way of thinking. We walked around Monmouth Friday evening and I shot 165 pictures. (I'll post some random shots this evening under Kwhizz's thread). Then Saturday we got to LaHarpe and I took a TOTAL of 12 shots. Just too busy chatting with friends and 'real car people'! The only problem is..............it all ends too quickly. We have so much fun talking, swapping stories, insulting each other; that the days get away from us. Before we're ready, it's time to load up, tie down and start the hugs and handshakes to the good friends we only see a couple of times a year.

Here's to all of you!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif And Thanks for being who you are.

I think you're both in the ball park of where you should be. There is no way to be dead on. Old laquer looks different than bc/cc, cross over colors vrs original paint samples, even the application process. As much as I enjoy beating you up about PURPLE, none,ie:Porterfield, you, or Harry, are exact. I believe you can compare color matching to women.ie: While they all may be fundamentally the same, there are differences. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I did have a chance to visit with Harry at Monmouth. We had a very nice chat about his car, and how his lace is actually sprayed on, not a graphic decal. He mentioned that he was now working on his old camaro. I look forward to seeing it also. It was very nice to see both him, and Ray Morrison with their Harrell/Gibb cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

mayor b,

The opening cerimonies was a great tribute to this great country of ours with colorful parachustist's making their jump, as the National Anthem was being sung. We, as car enthusiast's, owe a great deal of appreciation to you and your team, who so vividly work to make of such a great reunion each year.

I more than agree Ray, but I must express my deepest apologies to a couple of individuals I left out in my prior thanks. Many do not realize, Bob and Nancy Lionberger help year 'round with the workings and internals of the Gibb show. Not to mention they help Helen transport her car to many of the events. Bob, and Nancy, my sincere apologies for neglecting to mention you both in my prior mention of this year's show. As always your dedication and continuous contributions are simply invaluable! And you both deserve many kudos for all of your hard work!

THANK YOU BOTH!
Annie

Annie,

Not only do we need to give Bob & Nancy Lionberger a great deal of credit for their work at the Gibb Memorial Show, but also for their time in taking Helen and her car, to several shows each year. Simply put, they are a pair that are very dedicated and ready to do what they can to help promote the Fred Gibb Chevrolet name.
