Here's a note and a few photos I received from our own Mayor of Donahue. Looks like the guy knows his way around Camaros too. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Although she's still a work in process, I got tired of workin on it and went for a drive. This is in Oxford Jct. Ia., my home town. They made Otto Koranda's old DX station into the city hall. I thought she was just beggin for an old car shot. Spent my youth in this town, and more than a few trips to this station. While I've lived in Donahue since '73, I've never really left my Bohemian roots in OJ. If you look real hard, and think good thoughts, maybe it really is '68, and ol Otto is just about to come out and smear up the windshield.

I forgot to mention that while you can't see the tailpan, it's blacked out. When it's finished (someday) It will say on the drivers side,"THE EMERALD LADY", and on the pass side in smaller script it will say Chevron speed shop, Davenport Ia. They used to do all of Arnie Beswick's machine work. One of the owners still runs Auto Ron's Speed Shop in Davenport.

Feel free to share with the SYC guys if you like. Schonye

Love the stance on that Camaro. Wheels look great. Traction bars...very nice. Nice job Schonye. You framed those pictures just right. Keep us updated on her progress. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Those Tokheim 448's wouldn't last 1 day up here sitting outside like that..
That photo would look Vintage if Ken himself was just sitting behind the steering wheel.
Don't ever change.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Hey Mark, we're having a Reunion of the old White Hall Strips on Saturday, September 8th. Love to see an old '55 Gasser show up. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

This car came out of a barn/corn crib out by Woodhull Ill. She'd been sitting there since 79. The lady who owned it got it in the divorce from her 1st husband who had bought it new. It was a 327 2bbl 210hp 3spd, 308 open rear. We aired up all the tires, and pulled it on the trailer.
We took 3 large wastbaskets full of mouse nests/remains/poop/corncobs out of it.

It is a real J code rally green car, but had a white top. We decided to change that. The motor did go to Auto Ron's where they took it 30 over and put in pump gas pistons. The crank was good enough to stay standard. We changed out the heads to 65 double humps with a 54cc chamber if I remember correctly. 1.94 1.60. We used a Custom cam ground to L79 specs. A Holley contender intake which is almost deadnuts to an LT/1.And a 600cfm Holley.
Replaced the 3spd with a Muncie M20, and left the rear alone. The combo works pretty well for crusin. It just hums along at 60-70, and if you want to pass, you just slam it up into 3rd, and scare the crap outta the guy you're passin. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Darrin, I promised the lady I bought it from that if I ever sold it, she would have the right of 1st refusal. I will honor that promise if it needs to go someday. But if she says"no thanks" you can be 1st in line.

And to those who might wonder why I have 67 lower moldings on instead of the correct 68s. I frikkin hate the 68 moldings. I had 68s ordered, and called Jensen and had him change the order. I built it for fun, and it is. And on a nice Sunday afternoon that's all that really matters. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Mr. Cumby, I should have the '55 together over the next few days after breaking it at SCR10 and I'm pretty sure that I'll be off that weekend. I've actually been wanting to attend the White Hall reunions but something always seems to pop up. I'm gonna make an effort again though. Thanks and hope to see you there.
