Today is Patriot Day, when Americans pause to remember the tragic events of September 11, 2001. All government facilities will fly their flags at half-staff.
President George Bush has asked the American people to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Time “to honor the innocent Americans and people from around the world who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.”

The flag must first be hoisted to the peak of the staff and then slowly lowered to half-staff.
Before the flag is lowered at the end of the day, it must be raised again to the peak before lowering slowly. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
Sincere sympathy to all those who lost loved ones on this day. You are not alone. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
