Specifically, non-clear coated aluminum wheels...old-school stuff. Absolutely has to be a spray-on type "no touch" product (i.e. no polishing/buffing), so no Mothers Powerball, Never-Dull, etc.
Ain't asking for much, am I? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Try Eagle-One mag wheel cleaner for non-clear coated wheels..Great stuff! Spray it on and hose it off. Just don't get it on any polished surface...It will dull it very quickly.

They also make a self etching aluminum cleaner... good for cast aluminum... just spray and let sit, take scotch brite or steel wool and clean up. Good to follow up with an additional cleaner/polish for best results.
