Someone told me that you could enter a name in the people search area on a search engine and your name, address and phone number will be displayed. I decided to test this out to see if my name came up. Mine didn't show but, my wife's did with our phone number, address, residence history; etc.
I found this to bit a bit disturbing and I was wondering if anyone knew how to get your information removed from these types of searches?

Hate to tell you but these days the only way to get rid of that stuff is to have a P.O. box and an unlisted phone number. Most of the information is gathered from 3rd party sites. If you give your address and phone number to a company or organization, the information can be obtained.

I had an ex girlfriend find my phone number using the internet search. I hadn't talked to her in close to 15 years. My wife wasn't real happy with her calling me.

Hey Dave,
What do you think of this? Click on the satellite button and zoom in:

Interesting. Depending on which site you look at the house is on one end of the street or the other. The site that I often use has a birds eye view of the house with that address entered and shows it on the oposite end of that street then your site. Your site shows a house with a fenced in back yard with a pool. My site shows a white house (no pool), door in the middle front, brown fence around the back yard with a nice looking rock, tree garden in the NE corner, garage on the SE end of the house next to a very large tree. Appears to have a wreath on the front door though the tree is covered with leaves so I don't think that would be a wreath that time of year. I won't post the site as it give out too much personal information and since it likely belongs to Dave, he might not appreciate that. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My neighbor found a site that has actual pictures of the street and you can see cars in driveways, pools; etc. Big Brother is watching.

We have a bridge down the road that's been closed while being rebuilt for over two years. I just looked it up on the google satellite. It still shows cars on it. Those pictures must be at least two or three years old. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Same here. Our son built a garage last year and the aerial view still shows the previous owner's vehicle in the driveway. That has to be four years ago.

virtual earth (http://maps.live.com/?vendor=google&pkw=virtual%20earth|771012091&s_kwc id=virtual%20earth|771012091)
enter your address then click birdseye under the 3d box
this is very helpful for seeing who needs a new roof. based on cars I see here, I can say these shots were just last fall.

How close-up they can get is probably classified but I bet they would be able to read a license plate number off a car in a driveway.

Kind of like high altitude airstrips out in the middle of nowhere...you know, like at 10000 feet...Coyote Flats

The shots of my place have to be about 7 years old as they dont show anything where the now 35 foot tall weaping willows are.
