Asked if he'd meet any U.S. officials while here, Ahmadinejad smiled and said it was not foreseen. "Anything is possible."

"I have suggested that I debate President Bush. I think that the United Nations provides a suitable forum for this. All of the heads of state can sit down. The world can watch for itself, independently. We will offer our proposals for resolving world problems and restoring peace, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif
and allow everyone to think for themselves and decide which one is right."

It was, of course, an extremely unlikely suggestion.

Don't sweat this little piss-ant Mark. The mullahs run Iran, not this guy. I'm glad he came over to the U.S. and spoke at Columbia and got laughed at and booed by FREE people.

Where else but America could a deceitful little dictator be so openly insulted on the wolrd stage?
America has freedom of speech as a given right. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Not so much in Iran. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif
The ayatollahs DO run Iran, so if this idiot wants to make a fool of himself by inviting insults, with no way to weasel out of it, God Bless America. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Freedom of speech should only apply to american citizens, not this disengenous little prick.I'ts patently obvious his agenda here is to mock us and catalyze his nation. My biggest concern is it shows absolutely no respect whatsoever to our fighting forces.Welcoming this guy to a major university to spew rhetoric, question 911,the holocaust, etc on top of the fact he is most certainly responsible for untold KIA's is reprehensible imo
I'm out

They should have put him in a room alone for 15 minutes with the families of the 52 hostages they kidnapped from our embassy back in 1979. That would have solved the problem...

Yeah Mark, but it backfired on him. He got a serious tounge-lashing from the Columbia (chancellor or whatever his title is) guy and then, again, got soundly booed and laughed at. But, his unedited remarks and the crowd reaction (outrage and laughter) won't make it onto Al-Jazeera news and that is what makes American freedom of speech (and of the press and of religious belief and freedom FROM religion and persecution) better than Iranian supression and punishment for expressing one's beliefs and opinions. Lastly, the Iranian-on-the-street over there is far more supportive of Western progressiveness and Western culture than the mullahs and Mr. Achmajenadork---whatever the hell his name is---is.

It's either our free system, with all its warts and problems, or it's the f**kin' Taliban.
