This is a rotisserie restored 1968 Camaro SS396/325hp, automatic, completed in 2001 and originally built in April 1968. This is the second time this tremendous '68 Camaro has been offered by ShowYourAuto.com, the first time by the gentleman who restored it.

The current owner has kept this fine example in his climate controlled private collection since purchasing it in 2005, adding only 312 miles in that time. The restoration still looks crisp.

The Towanda Built 396, produced April 16, is a an "MY" code 396 making 325hp, backed by a 400 Turbo Hydromatic transmission. Rear Axle is a 2.73:1 large ring gear, Posi, produced April 15, at Chevrolet Gear and Axle. She is also factory equipped with Power Steering, Power Brakes, and Air Conditioning.

She is stunningly well equipped in Matador Red on Black, Posi-Rear, AM/FM 8 Track, Air Conditioning, Tilt/Power Steering, Power drum brakes, Power steering, Tick-Toc-Tac, and Center Console with gauges. Everything works. Not a common find!

I have personally viewed and driven this vehicle. Here is a link to more information, a video walk around, and 153 detailed photos. ShowYourAuto.com listing: 1968 Camaro SS 396, Matador Red (http://www.showyourauto.com/am/listings/l0116.html)

Offered at $56,495 Located in Denver, Colorado

Any questions, call me at 847-838-3749 or PM me. Thanks! ~Patrick Krook

The owner is open to trades for Supercars (Yenko, Dana, Nickey, Mr. Norm GSS), an RS Z28, or a Dodge Demon...

Mulholland Auto Restoration of Buena, NJ did the work. I do not have a current phone number for them.

Here is a pic of the POP and warranty book:

Thanks. Not the best pic, so I'll ask...is this a restamped block?

I would consider taking that car in on trade against one of our Super Cars!

Well, I am no expert on Chebbie stamps, especially in this crowd. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif To the best of my knowledge, no this is not a restamp. The gentleman who owned the car when it was restored said the numbers on the are original. I've had an independant 3rd party look at the photos as well. I have no reason to call either of them a liar. I am also willing to point out that I wasn't even alive when this car sold new to the original owner. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If you want the car to be more correct you could remove the paint from the engine pad and at the same time it would be much easier for people to confirm orig stamping.

Thanks. Unfortunately, no "expert" or "third party" could call an engine stamping based on those pics due to the orange paint. I also asked if it was a restamp because your ad doesn't state that this is the original engine.

Anyone other than the original owner declaring this or ANY motor as original is speculation at best in my mind. Look no further than a quick google search to find some "service" willing to "grain" (recreate factory broach marks after a block has been trued) and restamp your motor for you. Thank the Corvette contingent of the hobby for that one. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

The owners previous and present believe that this motor is the original one. If the purchase hinges on stripping the paint off the stamp pad, I am certain that the current owner is willing to do that. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

My point was the car would be mor correct with the paint stripped off.

[/ QUOTE ] You are right Charlie, it would be. I really wish more Chebbie restorers took the time to mask the stamp pad off when they paint the block. I'd make my job easier. No worries Charlie. Have you called the winning bidder on Robosaurus yet? (You know you want to.) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif.
