Got my VOE mufflers on my 69 340 CUDA finally. It is so awesome to drive. It is quieter than stock when closed and that is with a 2.5" front system with 2.5" mufflers into the stock 2.25" tailpipes.

Here is a shot from underneath looking forward. The camera angle makes them look low but they are supported by the stock hangers and stock tailpipe/chrome tip hangers. The front is maybe 1.5: low to clear actuators.
When open they resonate and roar and really have a low, mean sound. Not much crackly or "rocks in a box" sound but they are tough. No way will a policeman confuse me for a Mustang with single chamber Flowmasters but they definitely sound cool. I can see why this option was so cool in 1970. There would have been nothing that sounded or worked like this back then other than OEM, VOE mufflers.
