Matt...going forward your ad needs to have a buy it price for people who visit the site . Whether it is on E Bay or not. Thanks.

I have been through this before on this site. I was told by a moderator that I either list a price to sell or a RESERVE price if it is an ebay auction. I have listed about 30 ebay ads so far on this site of things people must not have wanted, and havent had any problems with someone telling me to list a buy it now price. The minute I list something of interest, this changes. Sorry but I won't end my auction early. I have posted my reserve in accordance with this website's classified posting rules. If you guys want, i won't continue to post anything I have on ebay on this website anymore with my reserve price. I won't be the one missing out if it is something that someone needs.

Mybe if you had a BIN people would buy your stuff.

Due to the persistence of a BIN on this site I am asking $5000 buy it now on the mouldings. If not, take your chances with my $225 reserve on ebay.

Thanks,
Matt

Look, I don't really see what the problem is. I posted my reserve in accordance with the website rules. It seems like a BIN is really pick and choose on this website when it comes to ebay auctions. Set a standard for EVERYONE to follow, not just select few. I am not here to make enemies or cause any problems. I have some parts people may be interested in on here, so I posted them. I didn't have to, but I did. It is only to help YOUR restorations out. I hope there are no hard feelings.

Okay, so from now if their is somebody listing a ebay item for sale here in the forums, it has to have a BUY IT NOW.

Great, I like it. This has not been observed by many in the past, but I like this policy. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

My auction has just hit the reserve.... so NOW that it met the reserve, what makes my auction different from a no reserve auction at this point?

Too bad we cannot develop a policy that works for all.I donot do buy it nows on my auctions either but have sold 100's of NOS parts over the past year on e-bay that I know could have helped out site members especially if you are into 65-68 impala and 70 chevelle but I could never let the site know since I don't believe in an outright purchase price for my items just a min starting level. A true auctions donot have BIN purchase prices that is why it is called a auction.
Two examples I can think of that just carved this in concrete for me was one of the 67 Z fans I sold and a 66 Buick wood wheel. I would have sold those prior to e-bay for 100.00 each but since both went to auction one sold for 1500 and the other for 1460 so why would I do a BIN.
I have some rare accessories running now and would love to see site guys get them but this for sale form with it's currect rules as i see them does not allow me to post them here. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Thanks Matt. Rare for sure. I looked many years for that puppy and paid a lot of money for it in the day. But my priorities have changed and things have to go.
take care

I think the reason people want a "Buy It Now" price posted is so they have a chance to get something for less than it's worth. Your NOS wheel well trim will probably sell for 2X the reserve.

I think 2X may be a LITTLE under market http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Good luck with the sale Matt and thanks for the publicity Jonesy.

I don't follow 69 parts but I think you are right Jason. I sold a set of 70's for 750.00 about 3 months ago and he would have taken the other two sets I have for the same price but I would not sell them until I decide what I will be doing with the cars.

We'll hash this out with the Administration...as far as I am concerned I vote we should only let paid Memebers i.e. those that actually help keep the site afloat...post parts or cars for sale.

"...as far as I am concerned I vote we should only let paid Memebers i.e. those that actually help keep the site afloat"

Gee, where have I heard that before? Maybe you will get heard. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

For the cost of a membership and keeping the club afloat as well as helping defray the costs of the Reunion, I think it is a pretty reasonable thing to ask considering how many parts get sold here. Where's the incentive to be a member if non members have the same rights.

No offense intended to any non members, just voicing my opinion. I thought Matt was within the guidelines for posting his reserve. I know others have been fine with just a reserve listed. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Yep...I agree. If you wanna sell here then become a member...It's still cheaper than selling on ebay!

Not me! As long as the rules are consistent for all and ALL ads placed follow the rules I see no reason for a change. I have bought 2 cars that were advertised on this site from non-members...I don't want to visit all the other sites to see what I'm missing...this is my cyber home!

People will go where they're wanted and it's easy and fun to do business. Let's keep this the place for it!

Maybe have 2 parts for sale sections. One for those that want to buy parts immediately with an asking price, and those for people that want to watch an auction for 10 days.

We should just go back to the old "make me an offer" days....it was fun watching people fight it out right here...

This would work Chuck. Then at least those of us who sell on e-bay would be making the site aware that we have listings running. You have to understand when you live way up north like me we don't have swap meets to buy and sell our stuff so the selling options are limited.Closest meet for me is 24 hours one way.
