Not my place to say who or when, but there is some ink in the works for the LM1's!

Charley, here's your chance to own one! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Anyone available to inspect the car for me?

Bummer. The guy got paralized from a bike accident.

Yes, it is. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I talked to him to get the numbers for the registry (and proof), and it seems that he was 4 wheeling with his kids no less, and wham, now he's cripple from the waist down. Sounds like he really does not want to get rid of the car either......

I explained that the auction would probably do better with some pics of the engine stamp, and better pics of the car and trim tag. Obviously, he can not climb into the engine bay.

Anybody live near there that can maybe help him with some pics and stuff?

Rich

I probably live the closest, but I am not sure when I can get out there. Kids and work schedule doesnt leave much time. I think I saw this car this past sunday at the E-town swap meet. That is really a shame about the quad-ing. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Rich, do you have any contact info? I have a good dig cam.

Hi Kevin,

Here's the phone number - 732-735-8851 , his name is Tory. If there is anything I can do to help from Louisiana, let me know....

(I can host pics on my web server, etc)

If everything looks legit with the disability and his need(not questioning it, but you never know today), then maybe as a group we can help him? I would be willing. Seems like he really wants to keep the car????

Rich

Slightly off topic. Has anyone else noticed this strange trend of what seems to be a number of bidders with user names such as b***a? All with "***" and a letter before and after? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Darren-- that is ebay's new privacy policy to stop scammers from obtaining bidder names. If you search all over ebay you will see the "****" in increasing numbers.

The letters and the **** is just e-bays latest attempt to keep higher $ bidders anonymous, by scrambling the id's. That's not their real I.D.s.

edit: oops, late again.....

Howard,
I just discovered this thread. I'm close enough to go look at it for you, BUT I don't know squat about Camaro correctness. You'd have to tell me exactly what to look for. PM me if you're interested and we can talk.

Is the car worth more than he is asking? If it is, maybe someone could get in touch with him and cancel the ad, then relist with updated info and pictures once someone can get there to help him. Just a thought, hate to see him lose out, bad enough he has to sell.

Do you really think a non ss 69 in #3 condition is worth more than 30K ??

This is an LM1, it might be rare but it's not very desireable. I think the RS option is a bigger selling point than the LM1 option.

Rich,
IF I do go look at the car for someone here, I might be asking you for some details as to exactly what to look for, Camaro in general, as well as LM-1 specific. I also feel bad for the guy and could only imagine how I"d feel if it happened to me and I had to sell my cars.
All I can offer is to be on the scene, with eyes and hands, guided by the experts ahead of time or over the phone while I'm there.
I would be happy to do that for nothing to either help the buyer or the seller.

Item location: Englishtown, New Jersey, United States http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

I figured it couldn't hurt to bump this up with the location.

If I were a Camaro guy in the area, i would jump at the chance to hang with Verne and help a car guy !! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif

20-25 is about right, maybe less right now as the market is down some. 3 owner car, if it's not torn up and a RS on top of the LM1 helps. Really, it was about him having a better ad, and showing some of the LM1 specific things, 12 bolt, TTag and Suffix.

Marlin, as far as the LM1/RS goes, are you really saying that you would prefer hidden headlights on say, a 6 banger than the LM1 and assoc options, which were essentially the same as a SS (12 bolt munice etc)on a non rs car? Really? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Mudjnky, excuse some of these guys, they rib me about the LM1's, if it's not a big block, they don't care, unless it is a Yenko Deuce (oops, forgot Marlin, that's the same motor as my 70 "COPO" Z28 http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif).

Verne, if you go look at it, feel free to call me on my cell and I can assist with any LM1 specific options.

Finally, remember guys, this is about helping someone, and if the situation is what it is said to be, sucks for him. I can only imagine what it would be like to be out with my kids and have that happen, and then have to sell my car on top of everything else.

The LM1 thing is really not important here, IMHO.

Just had to go there?

Well, it was important enough for the CRG to do a white paper on it for starters.

And like I said, this is about the poor guy on ebay, not my affection for the LM1 cars.

Oh, and get your facts straight, it was a 255hp 350 motor, not a 210hp. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

Car was sold new at Reedman. It was on ebay last Dec in primer, so the paint is new.

The guy says in his ad that he needs a ramp for his house, he wants to keep the car if he can, and the car is an automatic, which means that he can learn to drive it with hand controls. Truth is, he will need to learn learn the hand control thing anyway. A good set of hand controls sells for less than $200.00 bucks, and can be transfered to any car he drives.
If you guys want to do something charitable, how about a kitty for that? Somebody needs to talk to him directly to see what is really in his head about the car.
