I want to share this opportunity with you boys!

A good friend of mine restored a car for me and took photos as we all do along the way. He had the photos and some text made into a Custom Coffee Table book as a gift. I'm so impressed with the book that I'm going to have books made for many of my cars and thought you guys might like to do the same.

The book is 11 x 13 professionally hard bound with a 4 color glossy dust jacket. The inside is your design, it can be on a group of cars or an individual auto. You can create chapters with text and photos or just photos with captions. She can create a new book from a scrap book you may already have or start a new one with digital pictures or scan your old photos and documents.

Some sample chapters I'm using:
1. A Rumoir
2. The Hunt
3. Found!
4. The History
5. The Owners
6. Documentation
7. Restoration
8. Finished!

The size and scope is up to you. If you decide to create one don't forget to buy a second copy to stay with the car as it moves to a new home. I wish every car I had came with a book like this.

Here's their contact info:

Sorry for the poor quality photos.

Howard...that really neat. It would make a great Christmas present for someone. I wonder how long it takes to make one?

Hi all. This is Crystal with Love, Me. (The business that made Howard's Chevelle Book). Howard gave me this link to answer any questions you all might have. I must say thank you to Howard for his kind words regarding our work!
To answer the first question, it typically takes 4-6 weeks to have your book degined and published. Of course, everything depends on the nature of the order. This Chevelle Book only took about 2 1/2 weeks, but another 1968 Camaro book (for the same guy who restored Howard's car) we are doing took about 5 weeks because it had over 160 scanned photos and memoribilia. Of coure, as we get closer to Christmas, we will get a little backed up.

Howard's Chapter suggestions were great! But also know that if you don't have a creative bone in your body, or don't like to write, etc. that is our specialty. Mostly what happens, is you give us your vision for the book and we set up an interview and then continue to communicate throughout the entire creation stage. As we hear the stories (and you car guys have some crazy ones http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) we design the layouts (chapters, photos, etc.) according to you specifically. Everything is professionally customized to you and your car (s). We rarely use any quotes from other people unless it is just perfect. We write all of our own material. Of course, if you want more creative control, that is welcome as well, but just know that you don't have to do any of it yourself. If anyone wants samples of writing or quotes I can post it here.

Howard's Chevelle book is very "technical" in that it can go with any owner. It is soley about the restoration proces. Many other books are very personal with scanned in awards, many more photos of the owner and stories. These type books typically follow like a story book.

Our limit is truly your vision and it would be our pleasure to design and publish your personal story.

This is also great to promote your business if you restore vehichles, etc. It looks much nicer than an old greasy album!

Thanks again.

One more thing. Bruce mentioned Christmas present. We can also do Gift Certificates, which have been popular as of late for the car enthusiast. Lots of people want to surprise someone with a book about their car (which always turns out great), but I really prefer the owner to be 100% involved so that it is exactly right! It's a great thing to carry around to show off your car(s) when you can't take 'em with you.

Crystal,
That is an amazing idea and service you offer!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
I just wrote my own "book" which is in the Member's Rides section of this site now. Please take a look. I would love to have a real book made about my car!

Thank you Howard for bringing this to my attention! What real car guy wouldn't love to have something like that to go with the car that's meant so much to him for so many years.!

Hey Verne. Think she said there's a hundred page limit. Don't think you'd get any photos in your book with your big STORY!

There is NO page limit (unless you want 1000 pages or something http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif!) This is just one thing that makes us very different than most self publishing companies (not too mention we do all the work). I think we could get the 13x11 coffee table book that Howard displayed up to around 450 pages! That would make for a HUGE story and a very impressive book! Verne, I am on my way to check out your story right now ...

Verne ... I just finished your story! Man, it was worth the read. I LOVE the vintage photos (they look like they were originally slides?) I would be honored to publish a book about your car. We can restore some of those old images to their original color and heighted the resolution so they can be blown up and look great on paper. Email me anytime if you want to ask more specific questions.

PS. I have never that color combo. I LOVE the red leather; way cool!
