I know they are not stock but after a couple close calls with Wide Tread GT tires on the road I am in the market for a set of Radial Red Line tires for pleasure drives in our 68 Z. Any idea what size would best fit a DF rally wheel and also who carries the best tires. Thanks

Most of the corvette guys are using Diamond Backs in place of Cokers.

We have the BF Goodrich Silvertown redline radials(Universal Vintage Tires) on Karen's 69 SS Camaro...they look great and handle fine...we also have the Diamond Back's on the 68 BB Nova...also a quality product...only cosmetic difference I can see is on the Diamond back's the redline is raised above the surface of the tire...on the BFG's it is recessed...

I like the BFG Silvertowns, but I read a long thread on www.performanceyears.com (http://www.performanceyears.com) and all of the Pontiac guys on there swore by the Diamondbacks. One complaint they had about the SIlvertowns was that the stripe on the BFG's was more maroon than bright red. I've mostly seen the Silvertowns on non-red cars, so I didn't have an issue.

I still think 215/65/15 is the perfect size for early Z's, and I think they look better on 15x6's than they do on 7's.
