Knowing nothing about Chicago, where would be the best place to stay for the Vettefest? I would like a place close to the event as I do not see very well and do not want to rent a car. Thanks.

This is a really nice place and it has everything we need; a great Steakhouse, a decent breakfast restaurant with an excellent morning buffet for $14.95, an in-house bar and a swimming pool with a hot tub.

Heck...the swimming pool is even shaped like a Bowtie!

This hotel is literally directly across the street and the local constabulatory will assist everyone in crossing the street. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The direct number is (847) 292-9100.

The entire community of Rosemont goes out of their way to accommodate anyone using the Convention Center facilities, whether participant or spectator. It is an incredibly "user-friendly" place.

If the Doubletree is booked, try BelairBobs' Backdoor Inn.
Located a few clicks north in the town of Niles, just off of Oakton Ave.
Check in is at 10PM and you have to be out by 5AM through the firescape.
The food sucks but the bed is always warm.Your choice of rental cars as well, but you'll have to put the stack of phone books back on the drivers seat & scoot it all the way up when finished.
There"ll be at least one vacancy during that weekend and I hear their shoeshinning service is second to none.
