cant believe the grief im getting from this post..didnt mean anything by the ad. Just that i'm busy with 3 kids all under 3 yrs of age and i dont have the time to entertain guys just wanting pictures. Its ashame there are people surfing this site quick to pass judgement on others. Site is great but some of these members are a-holes!

Calm down everyone....Chez...A good way to avoid picture collectors and help sell the car would be to post pics in the thread.

I agree,sounds like a very nice car.
At least one overall quality 3/4 shot showing the lazer straightness and attention to detail would speak volumes.

Hello all,
I don't post a lot but I try to take it all in as I am still learning the hobby. But this issue really bothers me. I see a lot of adds where the seller says 'only serious 'inquiries'. I can certainly understand that, who wants to be bothered by anybody except a true buyer? But that is part of the process of selling a car. Before I bought my car I probably seemed like a not-so-serious buyer too, but the real reason was the particular car I was looking at was not for me. When I did come upon a car I wanted, I bought it. Not everybody knows 'exactly' what they want - I sure didn't. But sooner or later I would find something that I liked and I would buy. Buying a car is a process that we all go through just like selling. I suggest that if a seller does not have the time to put in the effort it takes to sell their car, maybe he/she should sell on consignment. The money they pay for this service has to be worth the hassle they avoid. I have sold many a car in my day and yes, it is a pain, talking with people that don't seem interested but that is the nature of the beast.

JMO...

i say big deal to this, let them ask for pics, and pick it apart.
the man is asking 70k for the car not $700.

the seller should have at least a 50 picture album of the car showing every nook and cranny of it,espcially since he's been trying to sell it since July.

it only takes a few minutes to upload the pics to photobucket, and post the link to the album here

i actually felt the same way as you at one time.

eventually,i saw the light, and sold a car after sending 60 pictures of it,and i had no guarantees the guy would buy it,but he did.

if youre not prepared to have a lot of pics of car you are asking a stupid amount of money for and also have a crappy attitude after only your 5th post on the board, dont be surprised if you and you car gets stepped on.

ok,back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I read that too afterwards. I did notice the color change and its not mentioned in this ad.

Im just saying their is a lot of bashing here and I was at a show this weekend and thats ALL everybody talks about.
I love this site but some of these people are hitting below the belt. Its like nobody new can play in our sandbox here !!

I am new here and people have been nothing but nice and helpful to me. I feel like I play here in the 'sandbox' without feeling like I am being pushed out. Like a lot of people on this board, I don't like it when people sign up just to sell their wares. This board is to trade ideas, like I am now, help each other out including offering services, and to just ask for help when needed. We love the hobby.

Not to offend anyone but some of these guys come here just to sell stuff and leave. That just doesn't sit right with me.

I think people start to ask the 'bashing' questions when something doesn't seem right with the add or there is pertinent information missing. Let's face it there are a lot of scams out there and when purchasing an investment like this you have to do your homework - And I appreciate it when somebody points out something that maybe I would have missed.

If a guy is told about this web site and owns a SUPERCAR and thinks this is the place to find a buyer,so he shouldnt come here?
Well for now on I will shoot him down because he's never posted here before and start calling him an a-hole.
Im not talking about a guy who says he has the Original motor to a car and some of us know the motor was blown up and ALL the Wrong parts on the car and say's ALL Correct.
We all Learn from those, but calling a guy an a-hole..

I think your perceived 90% is way off. Good cars with pedigree will always sell. If the seller fails to disclose something or is not forthright, then they may be called out. I don't agree with how the first two or three poster conducted themselves, but to make a blanket statement about this site is way off base. If you are only here to sell cars or this is the only forum you contribute on, then deal with it. If you look at Xplantdad link you will see that the seller was not forthright about the color change. Anyway is you are going to sell a car, you might want to disclose as much information as possible, and show some pics.

This site includes 22 other forums other than the classifieds, try spending some time there you might learn something, or better yet contribute something.

I guess the a-hole was a little harsh, sorry, but to come out and say don't waste my time, that line was not called for. There are many on this site with super high dollar cars and I am sure most people who would call him about the car would be interested in the car. Maybe i am wrong but if i can not afford it i would not waste my own time, or his. So sorry about the a-hole thing, just thought he came off a little rude for first post in the classified section. If you are selling a high dollar car then be ready to take what comes along with it.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here Rich, and say a lot of the folks at that show were kicked out of our "sandbox" here...yet those same folks watch this sandbox closer than we do?! It's as if it's all they have to do, and just might explain their attitude...so consider the source.

I've been coming to this site for quite a while and I have to say that I rarely see posts that are derogatory to others. The site coordinators do a great job of deleting that type of thing. With that said, I have also never seen a car that was thoroughly and honestly described torn apart either. I personally sold a car (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB3&Number=214574&Search page=1&Main=213837&Words=+juliosz&topic=&Search=tr ue#Post214574) here last year and had a great experience. I did have a few folks tell me they had to have the car, would you consider payments, would you consider letting me sell it for you, I have a buyer etc, etc, etc. You have to expect that type of thing and determine who's really serious and who's not. Because of the great amount of expertise of all of the folks who come here, this is not the place to sell if you're holding back. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Rich you do a fine job selling cars for our members and it is appreciated. Also I agree that the first couple of posts were inappropriate. Where I disagree is how big of a issue it really is, or is perceived to be by you.

You have brought this point up before regarding how cars are torn apart in the sales forum. This may be uncomfortable to some sellers, and thats unfortunate, but for the most part the questions asked are fair and reasonable.

I don't feel this forum needs further moderating, but thats not my call. Possibly we could eliminate the classifieds altogether which has been done on other sites. I would suggest to those selling, who find the questions asked here too critical in nature that they set up their own website, or find another to sell their items.

Glad you had an enjoyable weekend.

(You have brought this point up before regarding how cars are torn apart in the sales forum.)

A lot of cars are deserving a good bashing. So that never has been my fight. I guess you wouldnt have said anything when you read the guys post and what followed. Since your stepping up now about what I wrote !!
I just came back from a multiple of shows in the last few months and the first time I come on here and I read THAT !!
Understand how I was set back by it and said something.
I was out at shows and WEARING my favorite(one of)shirt(SuperCar Reunion),people would say stuff to me and im telling them how this is great website. Then I read THAT !!
I was just telling them: Dont let a few J-offs ruin their day..

I see a LOT of cars and im the first to want to get to the TRUTH about the cars I see. And I know you know that about me !!
Please im done with this and let the guy sell his color changed car for way to much money...

Understand how I felt coming off the road and the first thing I read..

What if he just said "no tire kickers"?

Who else misses the era of the angry classified? Or the p'od parts counter guy who thought walking an aisle back to grab a set of plugs was heavy lifting? Sure, it wasn't your fault he was missing a digit or two, but that didn't matter to "Lefty". Now that was hot rodding. C'mon, disgruntled finesse players from days gone by rule!

What? Yeah, maybe I heard 'o that place! Always got a kick out of Tony at Grand, too. And we're talking about guys, here - some of 'em were more moody than my gal at the time!

Heard Ray Dixon's still peddling hop-up stuff up in yer Waukegan dare, y'know. He never seemed to mind being paid, though. Good sort. That 'ol boy's phone could've used an intercooler back in the day ("Dixon Automotive - hang on a minute."). Places like Jeg's and Summit have to be doling out a fierce one on places like Ray's these days, though.

btw, thanks for the pass, sir - much appreciated!

How about the Chevy Shack on Cicero Avenue? You want to talk about disgruntled. He was the first guy that I met in my life who knew everything and was never wrong. The reason I know that is he told me every time I went in to his shop. For some reason I can't remeber his name. I thought it would be etched in my mind forever. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif Ed
